 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

SANWO-OLU FLAGS OFF VICTORIA ISLAND-ONIRU 1.8KM ROAD NETWORK.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE

        It was jubilation galore as residents of the Victoria Island-Oniru axis came out on Wednesday to witness the official flag off of the Victoria Island-Oniru axis road upgrading project by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The project, which is being executed through Public Infrastructure Improvement Partnership (PIIP) arrangement", was conceived and conceptualised four months ago by Planet Projects at the instance of Access Bank Plc, the major partner. The aim was to improve the traffic linkage and travel time around the highly commercial axis of Victoria Island. It is believed that traffic congestion being experienced within the project area reduces productivity and discourage growth of businesses. JUBILATION AS SANWO-OLU FLAGS OFF MASSIVE ROAD CONSTRUCTION IN IKORODU.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      A crowd of joyous residents of Ikorodu in Lagos State on Wednesday trooped out to receive Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was in the area to flag off massive rehabilitation and expansion of major roads. Accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and members of the State’s cabinet, Sanwo-Olu formally kicked off the upgrading and reconstruction of Owutu-Agric-Isawo, Bola Tinubu-Igbogbo-Imota and Itamaga-Ijede roads, giving the residents the feeling of long sought relief. The three road projects, which are expected to be completed in the next 20 months, are being handled by Messrs Hitech Construction Company and Arab Contractor. The 11.9 kilometres Ijede Road stretches from Ewu Elepe to Ijede town, cutting across four local councils and 37 communities. Governor Sanwo-Olu awarded contract for the construction of the first phase of the road, which covers 6.05 kilometres from Itamaga to Ewu Elepe town. A LADY IS BEING ACCUSED OF STABBING HER PARTNER TO DEATH IN HIS SLEEP.{PHOTOS}.

       A Nigerian man identified as Obinna has been confirmed dead after he was allegedly stabbed by his partner. A Facebook user who recounted how she warned the deceased not to marry the lady from Nnewi community in Anambra State, disclosed that the late Obinna was the only son of his parents. Sarafina Legacy wrote "Obinna My Friend I can't believe you're gone. Chai Obinna my friend, I've been crying since yesterday over your demise, so this Nnewi devil finally killed u? I and Tochukwu warned you not to marry this lady but u didn't hear. The worst is that Obinna is an only son. They were prosecuted by Abuja Zonal Office of the EFCC.      Operatives of the EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 busted a Lagos hotel believed to be a hideout for internet fraudsters. The target was one Rasaq Balogun, a suspected internet fraud kingpin, whose illicit activities dominated intelligence gathered from the recently arrested ‘police spies’ during a raid on their Abeokuta base. According to findings, Balogun harbours an army of young men recruited to carry out financial frauds through the use of the internet.
