 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. GABRIEL IGBINEDION'S SON MICHAEL,SENTENCED TO 6YEARS IMPRISONMENT TODAY FOR MONEY LAUNDERING.

                     Today thursday,Justice Muhammed Lima of Benin division of Federal High Court sentence Michael Iginedion,son of Gabriel Igbinedion,to six years imprisonment over alleged laundering of N25 billion fund belonging to the Edo state government.Justice Lima also sentenced Patrick Eboigbodin,an aid to former governor Lucky Igbinedion to 20 years imprisonment in addition to a fine of N250,000 on a 10 count charge.Michael Igbinedion,a younger brother to former governor of Edo state Lucky Igbinedion was sentenced to two years imprisonment on each of the three count.He was however given an option of N3million fine.All the jail terms of the convicts are to run concurrently.PML Securities Limited,one of the companies allegedly used by the convicts to launder the funds,was ordered to fold up and forfeit all its assets to the Federal government.

A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL & HER MOTHER WAS PUSHED OFF A MOVING BUS AFTER BEING MOLESTED IN INDIA.

                According to sources,recently a 14 year old Arshdeep Kaur and her mother Shinder,were traveling fro their home in Punjab,northern India to visit relatives when a group of about half a dozen men began harassing them.The men grabbed the 14 year old and made several attempts to molest her and her mother,but instead of defending them,the bus staff joined in the sexual assault.The incident took place on a near empty bus near Moga,some 50 miles from the Pakistan border,in Punjab province.From the testimony the mother of the 14 year old gave the press in the hospital,she said Shortly after they boarded the bus,a group of men had surrounded them and tried to grab both of them.The mother alerted the conducted about the harassment instead the conductor joined in and started abusing them both.After fighting off her attackers,she ran through the bus to tell the driver to stop the bus,but immediately the driver started driving faster.The assaul...
