 Junior Pope: Family of late Nollywood actor releases burial date Funeral arrangements for the burial of the late Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo have been released by his family. Junior Pope and four other actors drowned after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State on April 10 while returning from a movie shoot. Of the 12 individuals who boarded the ill-fated boat, only seven were rescued alive, while five died, including Junior Pope. The details of funeral arrangements for the late actor, signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family, indicated that besides the April 23 requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State, another requiem mass is scheduled to be held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A., Enugu, on May 13. On May 14, an evening of tributes and candlelight will follow at Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu at 5 pm. FLOODING: LAGOS URGES RESIDENTS TODAY TO REMAIN CALM,VIGILANT+PHOTOS OF PEOPLES HOUSES FLOODED IN VI & LEKKI.{PHOTOS}.

                                                         Lagos State Government today sunday urged residents to remain calm and vigilant in the wake of the torrential rain experienced in the State in the last few days.State's Commissioner for the Environment,Dr Babatunde Adejare,who spoke after inspecting areas affected by the flood in the State,allayed fears of residents,assuring that the Government has activated its emergency response system to respond efficiently where necessary.He said most of the flooding would recede after a period of time,attributing the cause to the high tide of the lagoon,sloing down the flow of rainfall water from drainage channels.''We are on top of the situation.The Government is concerned by the recent occurrences of flooding in some parts of Victoria Island,Lekki,Oniru and its  environs and our emergency lines 112 and 767 are open 24/7 for residents to report any emergency situation,'' he said.Then the photos above and below are photos

EROSION DESTROYS ROAD THAT LINKS NIBO AND AGUATA IN ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

                      This is the state of the road that links Nibo to the Aguata area of Anambra State after a heavy rainfall.Looking at the size of the asphalt,you would notice that it wasn't thick enough.They are calling on the Anambra State Government through the Commissioner of Works to come and salvage this road before it is totally cut off.More photos below.

AP.NO 122800 INspr. Mufutau Olaosun. 2. F/No. 366127 Sgt. Adebayo Temitope. 3. F/No. 455593 Cpl. Bakare Taiwo and 4. F/No. 455554 Cpl. Adesoye Ayokunlehin who were charged,tried and found guilty in an Oderly Rood conducted at the Area Command Headquaters,Ijebu-Ode for two offemces against discipline as provided for in Paragraphs E {iii} Discreditable Conduct and C {ii} Corrupt Practice under the First Schedule of Police Act and Regulations Cap. P19. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004. THE CASE AGAINST THE DISMISSED POLICEMEN.
