 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

LASCOCO TO COLLABORATE WITH UK COUNTERPART ON EXCHANGE TRAINING PROGRAMME The Lagos State Cooperative College (LASCOCO), has revealed that it is about to conclude an arrangement with the foremost international training cooperative institution in the world, the United Kingdom Cooperative College on an exchange training programme. Mr. Akorede Ojomu, Provost, LASCOCO, disclosed this during a working visit by the Special Adviser to the Governor, Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO), Mr.  Afolabi Ayantayo, to the College recently. Ojomu said that the exchange programme, which had been endorsed by the Ministry of Justice, is at the final stage involving the drafting of a legal working agreement for both parties before the take-off of the programme. According to him, the working agreement with the UK Cooperative College would allow students and staff of Lagos State Cooperative College to undergo exchange training programmes in academics and other development areas that support may be required.

 Governor Ortom of Benue Celebrates Driver Who Gave Him Opportunity to Be Bus Conductor, Gifts Him Hilux Van Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Monday, celebrated his former boss, Mnenge Mtemave, for making a positive impact in his life when he worked as a conductor. It was gathered that Ortom had worked as a motor conductor to Mtemave, who was a driver at the Gboko Motor Park in the late 1970s, and early 1980s while growing up in Gboko town after dropping out of primary school. POLICE PATROL VAN CHASING YAHOO BOYS CRUSHES POLICEMAN TO DEATH IN EKITI.{PHOTOS}.

A policeman identified as Supol Ayeni has been crushed to death by a patrol van belonging to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) unit of the Ekiti State Police Command. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening along Federal Polytechnic, Ado/Ijan Road. SaharaReporters gathered that RRS operatives who drove recklessly were chasing suspected fraudsters, otherwise known as Yahoo boys when they hit their colleague who was on a motorcycle. It was learnt that Supol Ayeni who was attached to Odo Ado police state died on the spot. One more photo below.

The Federal Government will take appropriate measures to improve access to foreign exchange for importation of raw materials and machines that are not available locally, President Muhammadu Buhari assured the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Wednesday in Abuja. The President spoke during an advocacy visit of the leadership of MAN, in response to requests on making the manufacturing sector contribute more to the Nigerian economy. The President told the Mansur Ahmed-led executives of MAN that the relevant Ministry would revisit their concerns about the increase in excise duties on the identified products and other tariff-related matters.
