ANAMBRA GOVT RESCUES 13 CHILDREN FROM TRAFFICKERS, ARREST SUSPECTS. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. About 2,500 of Singh's followers have been arrested, police said. Earlier, his devotees smashed cars and set media vans alight, saying he was innocent. More than 200,000 of his followers had flocked to the Chandigarh area ahead of Friday's verdict. Singh, who says he has millions of disciples, was found guilty of raping two women at the headquarters of his sect, known as Dera Sacha Sauda, in 2002. OBASEKI PROFFERS TRANSNATIONAL COALITION TO END ALL FORMS OF SLAVERY.

                   The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has proffered transnational partnerships between state and non-state actors as the only way to end slavery in all its forms. Obaseki made the proposition on the occasion of the commemoration of the International Day for the Remembrance of Slave Trade and its Abolition on August 23, 2017, a day set aside by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, to memorialize the Transatlantic slave trade. AREWA YOUTHS WITHDRAW OCTOBER 1ST QUIT NOTICE ISSUED TO IGBOS RESIDING IN THE REGION.{PHOTO}.

         The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum which is a coalition of Northern youth groups, has withdrawn the October 1st quit notice it had issued to Igbos residing in the region. The group had in June, given the Igbos residing in the Northern region up until October 1st to leave the region or face physical attacks. The quit notice had followed wide spread condemnation with the Kaduna state governor,  Nasir El-Rufai, ordering their arrest for making such threats. In separate statements issued at different times, the Arewa youths had said the ultimatum was given so that the Igbos who are Biafran agitators and reside in the North, can quickly go to their region to form their desired country.

MAN CONVICTED FOR N2.3M LAND SCAM YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

The EFCC today, August 24, 2017, at the Gombe State High Court Gombe, secured the conviction of one Malam Umaru Kankani for offences bordering on possession of forged document. He was prosecuted before Justice Sa'ad Muhammad on one count charge.  Kankani's arrest and prosecution followed a petition alleging that sometime in June, 2016, he defrauded the complainant of N2.3million over a parcel of land situated at Federal Low-cost, Gombe, which ownership the convict fraudulently claimed.One more photo below.
