Obaseki made the proposition on the occasion of the commemoration of the International Day for the Remembrance of Slave Trade and its Abolition on August 23, 2017, a day set aside by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, to memorialize the Transatlantic slave trade.          The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum which is a coalition of Northern youth groups, has withdrawn the October 1st quit notice it had issued to Igbos residing in the region. The group had in June, given the Igbos residing in the Northern region up until October 1st to leave the region or face physical attacks. The quit notice had followed wide spread condemnation with the Kaduna state governor,  Nasir El-Rufai, ordering their arrest for making such threats. In separate statements issued at different times, the Arewa youths had said the ultimatum was given so that the Igbos who are Biafran agitators and reside in the North, can quickly go to their region to form their desired country.

              The Ogun State chapter of All Progressive Congress APC has stated that the   recently conducted ward congresses of the party was duly held with full  compliance with the constitution of the party  A group led by Hon. Kunle Adesina had alleged that the congresses were  improperly conducted. The EFCC today, August 24, 2017, at the Gombe State High Court Gombe, secured the conviction of one Malam Umaru Kankani for offences bordering on possession of forged document. He was prosecuted before Justice Sa'ad Muhammad on one count charge.  Kankani's arrest and prosecution followed a petition alleging that sometime in June, 2016, he defrauded the complainant of N2.3million over a parcel of land situated at Federal Low-cost, Gombe, which ownership the convict fraudulently claimed.One more photo below.
