 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. Arase,fdc,NPM,was in Enugu on the 9th of June,2016 to commission the Police Post Retirement Housing Estate.Personalities present at the commissioning ceremony:The Deputy Governor Enugu state,IGP Ogbonna O. KOGI STATE GOVERNOR 'BELLO',RENAMES THEIR STATE UNIVERSITY TO 'PRINCE ABUBAKAR AUDU UNIVERSITY TODAY.

                 Today friday,Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state renamed the Kogi State University Ayangba after the late Governor Prince Abubakar Audu.Bello said that naming the university was the ultimate honour that could be done to the memory of the late politician who ruled the state twice as the civilian governor from 1991 to 1993 and 1999 to 2003.Audu himself established the university in 2001 and named it Prince Abubakar Audo University but his successor,Alhaji Ibrahim Idris changed the name to Kogi State University in 2004.He said today that ''Today and as always,i celebrate the life and times of Prince Abubakar Audu,the first Executive Governor of Kogi state.It is our hope that those who want to lay claim to his legacy will at least develop the same heart for the growth and development of Kogi State that he demonstrated through his lifetime''.More photos below.

                Muhammed Ali's funeral procession has begun.His pall bearers include actor Will Smith and ex-boxers Mike Tyson and Lenox Lewis are among the pallbearers who placed Ali's coffin in the Black hearse for the procession that began today around 10:35 am E.T in Louisville Kentucky.Onlookers have crowed roads to catch a glimpse the funeral procession,according to reports some are chanting ''Ali'' and ''the champ'' as the motorcade transporting Muhammad Ali's body drives by.The procession is moving from AD Porter & Sons Funeral Home through his home town in Louisville to Cave Hill Cemetery.More photos below.                                                                                                                        

A MAN BAGS 14 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR LAND SCAM IN KANO.{PHOTO}

                 Justice Fatu Riman of the Federal High Court Kano,has convicted one Bashir Musa of Hotoro Dan Marke Quarters of Kano City on two counts of impersonation and obtaining and obtaing money by false pretence.The convict was arrested by Operatives of the EFCC on Auugust 27,2012 following a petition by one Shetima Yusuf of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital {AKTH} Quarters,Kano.The complainant alleged that the convict had offered to sell to him,four plots of land which he claimed belonged to his father,Alhaji Musa Usman.Upon agreement,Shartima raised a First Bank Cheque of N600,000.00 and FCMB Cheque of N300,000,00 both dated 30th June,2012 in favour of the convict,and promised to pay the balance of N600,000,00 in seven days.But to his dismay,the convict,Bashir Musa,informed him that the land had been sold by his father,but promised to give him another land.He later showed him another plot of land at Mariri Quarters for N2,000,000.00,for which the complainant paid an additional N1,

A SUSPECT UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE EFCC,PASSED AWAY TODAY FEW HOURS AFTER HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.

                   Desmond Nunugwo,aa suspect under investigation by the EFCC,passed away today June 10,2016 few hours after he was taken into custody.His demise was confirmed at the hospital where he was rushed after he suddenly took ill.Late Nunugwu allegedly fraudulently obtained N91 million from an acquaintance after he tricked her into believing that he had high net worth business associates in Dubai,United Arab Emirates who were at the verge of buying Nicon insurance and convinced her of their disposition to help her stock fish business.Consequently,she wired N91 million into Nunugwo's nominated account {Mainagge General Merchants} in Diamond Bank.After the transfer of the funds,Nunugwo became evasive forcing the complainant to report the transaction to the EFCC.Consequently,Nunugwo was arrested in Utako,Abuja at about 5.33pm on Thursday,June 9,2016.His statement was taken,where he admitted receiving the money from the complainant,with the additional information that he trans

                                                    The Lagos State House of Assembly yesterday thursday confirmed the appointment of the immediate past Chief Judge {CL} of the state,Justice Ayotunde Philips as the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission {LASIEC}.Justice Philip's appointment,which was confirmed duringg plenary yesterday thursday,followed her nomination by the State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode through a letter sent to the House few weeks back.The Clerk of the House,Mr Sanni Azeez was subsequently ordered to communicate the confirmation of the appointment of Philips to the Governor through a letter.Justice Philips who was invited to the House to defend her nomination,said during plenary that she was prepared for the job and that this would halt her retirement,which she had enjoyed for sometime now,adding that she was ready to serve the state.Some of the lawmakers,who contributed during her appearance,observed that she served the State meritoriou

NIGERIAN ARMY RESCUED SOME WOMEN WHO WERE CAPTURED & MARRIED OFF TO BOKO HARAM MEMBERS.{PHOTOS}.

                            Troops of 26 Battalion,151 Task Force Battalion,155 Task Force Battalion and some elements of 21 Brigade have carried out a joint clearance operations to destroy remnants of Boko Haram terrorists camps and enclaves in the early hours of today in several villages in Bama Local Government Area of Borno state.The villages include Kircha Goniye,Wujjah Alkelu,Kita Jiddum,Jameri,Geri Gana,Gere Kura and Jabe.Other villages cleared by the troops were Hasana Jre and Chachile.During the operation,own troops came in contact with elements of the terrorists group during which 2 of the terrorists were killed.The troops further recovered 5 Dane guns,2 moble telephone handsets,3 Boko Haram terrorists flags and a Generator as well as several vehicles.In a related development,troops of 22 Brigade Garrison on blocking position also encountered a convoy of Boko Haram terrorists on motorocycles same day in which they killed 1 Boko Haram terrorist and recovered 3 motorcycles,1 ba
