 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

A MAN FROM NIGER REPUBLIC,WAS ARRESTED BY THE EFCC ON FRIDAY WITH 130 ATM CARDS,ON HIS WAY TO CHINA FROM KANO.{PHOTO}.

                                           The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC is currentlyy investigating a case of ATM racketeering involving one Muhammadou Ibrahim who was arrested while on transit to China for carrying 130 {one hundred and thirty} Automated Teller Machine,ATM Cards of two different Nigerian banks and a Chinese bank,concealed in a carton of Cherie instant noodles.The suspect was nabbed at the Mallam Aminuu Kano International Airport,Kano.Upon being interviewed,he claimed to be a Nigerien with passport No. 09PC71337,bearing Muhammadou Ibrahim.However,Preliminary investigation revealed that Muhammadou is a businessman that deals in costume jewelry at the Kasuwan Kofar Wambai market in Kano.The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

THE DEATH TOLL OF KENYA BUILDING COLLAPSE,HAS RISEN TO 21,TODAY.

                 As the death toll of Kenya 6 storey building collapse reaches 21,the aid workers said hopes were fading of finding more survivors in the rubble today.Police said they were questioning the owner of the six storey residential block that collapsed late on friday after days of heavy rain and floods,but no one had been charged.Residents and rescue workers have been sifting through piles of broken concrete at the site in the eastern Huruma suburb ever since,rescuing 135 people,according to the latest police figures.But conditions were getting more challenging.Red Cross official Anthony Mwangi said ''In conditions of no air,firt,no food,no water,it's very difficult for that person to stay alive''.Authorities had condemned the 198 room building and there has been no official explanation of why it remained occupied.More photos below.

                               In compliance with the military high command's directive which is to ensure that all villages and towns are cleared of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists,troops of 22 Brigade Garrison in Operation LAFIYA DOLE,on sunday 1st May 2016 cleared 4 villages of Boko Haram terrorists hiding in the area.The terrorists hibernating in Cinga,Mallum Maja,Bosuma and Murye villages,were armed with dangerous weapons and have been terrorizing the communities.During the operations 3 Boko Haram terrorists were killed,while 9 of them who tried hiding in fox holes and dug outs were identified and captured alive.Items recovered from them include 9 Dane guns,3 matchetes,1 bow with arrows,6 motorcycles used by the Boko Haram terrorists to ferry slaughtered cow meats to Boko Haram terrorists hideouts were recovered and burnt.Other items recovered include 1 tricycle,4 x Tiger Generators and 1 solar panel.The troops also recovered 300 herds of cattle rustled by the Boko Haram ter
