 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

Borno Workers: NLC, TUC praise Zulum for paying N705 million leave grants last week  … Asks govt to speed up promotions The organized labour, made up of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) in Borno State, on Tuesday in Maiduguri, commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for last week’s release of N705 million to clear outstanding leave grant owed workers.  In a joint statement, signed by the chairman of the NLC, Comrade Yusuf Inuwa and TUC chairman, Comrade Babayo M. Hamma the organized labour confirmed workers received the leave grants last week.   The statement was issued after a Joint State Administrative Council meeting of the Organized Labour, which was held in Maiduguri. KDSG Security Update: Wednesday 10th August 2022.  KDSG debunks circulated message, urges citizens to go about normal activities.  - Kaduna-Zaria road safe  The attention of the Kaduna State Government has been drawn to a widely circulated message advising citizens not to enter or exit Zaria, alleging the presence of hundreds of bandits at Dumbi and Jaji along the route to Zaria.  The Kaduna State Government wishes to firmly debunk that message, and urges citizens to disregard it completely. It is an obvious attempt to spread panic.  The Kaduna State Government assures all citizens and travelers that the Kaduna-Zaria route is safe for travel. NTEJE REHABILITATION INMATES EXCITED AS MRS. SOLUDO VISITS THE CENTER. By Chidinma Ikeanyionwu Blessing Austin Nweke  The inmates of Nteje Rehabilitation Center were full of excitement when the wife of the governor of Anambra State Mrs Nonye Soludo alongside the Commissioner for women and social welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo visited the center. The inmates who were visibly happy took turns to sing, dance and perform for the wife of the governor. As though that wasn't enough, they gladly interacted with her and assured her that they will always be in their best behavior. While interacting with them, Mrs Soludo promised to reunite as many certified okay by the centre's physician and also set them up in different skills. Mrs Soludo also promised to start up skills training for the inmates as a way of encouraging them and speeding up their recovery process. Lesbian arrested for stabbing her married partner’s husband to death in Anambra  A yet-to-be-identified lesbian has been arrested by the police in Anambra State for allegedly k#lling her married partner’s husband.  It was gathered that the suspect attaked and killed the deceased, identified as Ikechukwu Onuma aka Ayaaya Onye-Obodo, after he walked in on her and his wife making out in his house in Onitsha area of the state.  Details of the sad incident are still stretchy, but according to reports, Ikechukwu came home unexpectedly and met his wife making out with her lesbian partner, an argument ensued and in the heat of the moment, the suspect stabbed him to death.  The suspect was reportedly arrested alongside the wife. The parley was organized by the Directorate of Defence Information in collaboration with The Media Today (TMT) International. This is even as intensive air operations endured in the entire military theatres of operation as NAF aircraft continue to seek and decimate enemies of the state in their attempts to make life unbearable for innocent Nigerians. From the briefings received by the CAS, it is evident that so far, the directives given to the operational commanders is yielding the requisite outcome. Kaduna-Abuja Train Kidnap: Terrorists Release Seven More Passengers No fewer than seven hostages abducted from the Kaduna-Abuja train on March 28 have been released. The seven hostages released by the terrorists include a family of six and a woman. Their release was confirmed to journalists in Kaduna by Tukur Mamu, Publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald and Media Consultant to a controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi. The identities of the released family of six are Abubakar Idris Garba, his wife, Maryam Abubakar Bobo, and their eldest son, Ibrahim Abubakar Garba, who’s 10 years old. Others include Fatima Abubakar Garba (7), Imran Abubakar Garba (5), and youngest Zainab Abubakar Garba, who is only one and half years old.
