 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

GOVERNOR SHETTMA,PRESENTS N10M CHEQUE TO THE WIDOW OF LATE LT COL ABU ALI YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

                        Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima yesterday presented N10million cheque to Samira,widow of army commander,Lt. Col Abu Ali killed in Malam-Fatori,headquarters of Abadam local government area in northern part of Borno State on November 4.Ali was commanding officer of 272 Task Force Tank Battalion until he was killed with some soldiers following an ambush by Boko Haram fighters.Shettima visited the family's residence of the late Ali at UnguwaSarki in Kaduna where he met with the commander's widow,three children and surviving mother.Army spokesman Isa Gusau disclosed these in a state yesterday.The governor instructed the N10million should be shared with N2M to the aged mother of the commander,N2m to the widow and 2m to each of the children in a fixed deposit.He said ''The late Lt. Col. Muhammad Abu Ali gave Borno Everything.He worked hard in leading troops to recover many communities and at the end he paid the supreme price by giving his life for

               According to sources,Ghana Football Association reportedly said yesterday saturday on it's website they have chosen to end its contract with Israeli coach Avram Grant.The report said officials at the African nation's national soccer team were unhappy with Grant's performances as coach,after the team lost 2-0 in a November 13 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Egypt.The fedeat,coupled with Grant's reported refusal to return to Ghana with the team in recent days,led the football association to a decision to fire the Israeli.One more photo below.

                According to one of my reporter Chinenye Genevieve,gallant men of the Imo State Police Command yesterday foiled an attempt by a four man armed robbery gang to rob a bank customer at Fidelity Bank,Owerri.The gang which came on a Toyota Camry drove away after they were engaged in gun battle by the police men on duty and police teams from all over the city led by the area commander ACP Francis Bissiong,the DPO Owerri urban and command federal anti robbery squad in the state.The team immediately raided black sports in the city where men of the under world were picked out and taken to the state headquarters for investigation.More photos below.
