 Abuja Court Jails Two Internet Fraudsters The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 secured the conviction and sentence of two internet fraudsters to various jail terms. The convicts, Adeleye Olanrewaju and Ayo Olaosebiomo were convicted by Justice I. Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory,  FCT,  High Court Gwagwalada on a one- count charge each. The lone- count charge against Olanrewaju  reads: ‘that you Adeleye Olanrewaju sometime in 2024 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable court committed the offence of cheating by personation when you pretended to be one Lolita Gonzale293 female American citizen when you created a fake Instagram account for love scam and benefitted the sum of $460 (Four Hundred and Sixty United States Dollars) from your victim John Alonzo and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 321 and punishable under Section 324 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004”.   They both

While I am not one to trade issues on social media, it has become pertinent that I clear the air once and for all. First of all I would like to state clearly that I do not support or encourage any form of domestic violence whether targeted at a woman or man. I have also never been one to physically violate any body including my ex wife. Our marriage was one plaqued with a lot of issues. One of which was continuous infidelity from her side that led to me conducting a paternity test on our kids which led to the revelation that our first son is not my biological son even though he was born within the period during which we were married. On the allegation of domestic violence, we have had this matter investigated twice, one the police station in Ajah and another by a competent court of law during the dissolution of our marriage. LAGOS TASK FORCE OFFERS TO EDUCATE COMMERCIAL BUS DRIVERS ON TRAFFIC RULES.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) has indicated its preparedness to collaborate with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to educate willing commercial bus drivers to reduce the high rate of disobedience to traffic laws in the State, restating its resolve to also keep its operatives in check. Chairman of the Taskforce, CSP Shola Jejeloye, made the offer at a meeting with State Executives and Branch Heads of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Agege. CSP Jejeloye met the Union as part of the efforts to resolve the discord between commercial bus drivers and the agency’s operatives saying, “If we are to eliminate friction between commercial bus drivers in Lagos State and the Enforcement Team of Lagos Taskforce, we must be ready to educate willing union members on what constitutes obstruction, driving against traffic and driving on BRT Lane”.   He said the concept would also include engaging other relevant government agencie

INSECURITY: NCC SHUTS DOWN ALL TELECOM OPERATIONS IN ZAMFARA STATE.[PHOTO].

 The Nigerian Communications Commission has announced the shutdown of all telecom operations sites in Zamfara to deal with the rising insecurity. The NCC disclosed this in a statement on Friday evening, signed by its CEO, Prof. Umar Danbatta, viewed by Nairametrics. “The pervading security situation in Zamfara State has necessitated an immediate shut down of all telecommunications services in the State from today September 03, 2021,” the statement said. They added that the shutdown is to enable relevant security agencies carry out required activities towards addressing the security challenge in the state. “In line with this requirement, Globalcom is hereby directed to shut down all sites n Zamafara state and any sites in neighbouring states that could provide telecommunications series in Zamfara State,” it said. They added that the shutdown will operate for 2 weeks from the 3rd of September to the 17th of September.

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Yanusa Ranatu from Kwara State who just concluded her registration at Kaiama orientation camp yesterday gave birth to a baby boy at the Bayelsa State Referral Hospital, Kaiama, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area. The State Coordinator, Mrs Ojugo Iyowuna who led a delegation of key camp officials to visit her in the hospital, presented items needed to support the baby and his mother.   Doctors had certified that the mother and baby are in good health condition.

The Imo State Police Command has released Elvis Okafor, the 23-year-old boy arrested in the Orlu Local Government of the state and labelled an operative of the Eastern Security Network. His relative, Gideon Dominics, raised the alarm after seeing his photograph on Facebook while being paraded by the police. Dominics, in a post on Facebook, wrote, “This is my little cousin, Elvis Okafor; have you seen how dramatic Nigeria is? A little boy that went to buy foodstuffs for his sick mum is now a member of IPOB? “A boy that came back from church and hasn’t eaten anything is now brandishing a gun as an ESN member? You see the Nigerian magic? Is this how innocent people are being framed daily? While speaking with our correspondent on Monday, Dominic stated that his cousin had been released on bail. “If you see my cousin, you will not believe he is the person. After spending 29 days in a police cell, he was looking sick and in need of medical attention,” he added.
