                     The Lagos State Government has expressed its condolences over the death of construction site workers who lost their lives on tuesday as a result of the collapse of a five storey building under construction on Kushenla Road,Ikate Elegushi,Lekki.In a press release issued on wednesday and signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy,Mr Steve Ayorinde,the Lagos State Government also announced that based on preliminary reports and investigation,it was discovered that the collapsed building was served contravention notice for exceeding the approved floors and thereafter sealed by the Lagos State Building Control Agency.It added that it had also been discovered that in a brazen act of defiance and impunity,the owners of the building,Messrs Leekki Worldwide Estatee Limited,the promoters of Lekki Gardens,criminally unsealed the property and continued building beyond the approved floors until the unfortunate in...

                       Nigerian top musician Davido,signed a new deal with Sony music.The partnership is said to be a music publishing and distribution agreement.This will see the pop star put out two albums.Both albums are expected to drop from this year,will be released and globally distributed by Sony Music.The partnership deal was facilitated by Efe Ogbeni who works with Sony/ATV,and he will serve as the executive producer for Davido's next album expected to drop sometime this year 20 1 6.Davido is expected to retain ownership of the music as well as various performances,while Sony handles the distribution of the album globally.More photos below.

                       Today thursday Inspector General of Police Mr Solomon Arase,made the disclosure at the inauguration of the Police Dog Breeding Centre and Ultra ModernMounted Troop in Abuja.He said ''The Nigerian Police Force,had spent over N600 million on the procurement and maintenance of foreign dogs in the last few years.This is certainly not sustainable in the face of the current dwindling resources.So much money was being spent on the importation of dogs from foreign countries that rarely adapted to the country's policing objective.The projects inaugurated were funded within the budgetary provisions of the Force Animal Branch.The force animal branch had remained under utilised in the past while the force continued to rely on importation of dogs and other animals for its operations.The centre was built to aid the police acquire capacity to locally breed police dogs as well as support other security agencies in the co...

                     Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Amobode yesterday wednesday granted immediate approval for provision of land to the Nigerian Navy in the Ibeju Lekki area of the state to install surveillance equipment to monitor activities on the Nigerian territorial waters and a little beyond the exclusive economic zones of the country.Governor Ambode,who made the announcement during a courtesy visit paid on him at the Lagos House,Ikeja by the Chief of Naval Staff,Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas,said the surveillance gadget would go a long way in putting a halt to criminal activities going on within the creeks around the state and generally on the Nigerian waters.He said with the realization of the fact that 20 percent of the 735 square kilometers of Lagos is covered by water,there was a veryy strong need for the state government to partner with the Nigerian Navy to ensure security and welfare of the people especially as it relate...
