 TCIPC Customs, NNS Beecroft Reaffirm Commitment to National Security, Trade Facilitation The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command (TCIPC), and the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS), Beecroft, have renewed their commitment to securing Nigeriaā€™s maritime borders and facilitating smooth trade operations.  This was highlighted during a visit on Thursday, 27 March 2025, by the newly appointed Commander of NNS Beecroft, Commodore Paul Nimmyel, to the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka at the TCIPC headquarters.   ā€¦Governor, Cabinet Members Inspect Construction Work Barring unanticipated event, the construction of 18.7-kilometre six-lane rigid pavement carriageway from Eleko Junction in Ibeju Lekki to Epe T-Junction in Lagos State will be completed and commissioned. This was the assurance from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu when he and members of the State Executive Council went on an on-the-spot assessment of the project, on Monday. Sanwo-Olu was excited by the pace of work on the road, persuading the contractor handling the project to increase its momentum in order to push the progress to an encouraging level before the end of the year. The Governor flagged off the first phase of the expansion on the Lekki-Epe Expressway last November, kick-starting the rehabilitation of the 40-year-old infrastructure. The Federal Government has again reiterated the need for the newly promoted Assistant Controllers General of Corrections and other officers promoted to contribute their quota towards the improvement of the image of the Service and to ensure the Security of all custodial facilities across the country. The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola gave the charge today while decorating the promoted senior officers in Abuja. Aregbesola, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, noted that the tasks ahead of the officers are enormous in view of the security challenges and the recent attacks on some Custodial facilities. ā€œWe need to improve on what we are doing by ensuring adequate training and equipping of officers with the needed tools to carry out their duties efficiently,ā€ he said.
