EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

April 1, 2022 Press Statement PDP Suspends Anambra State Congress  …Extends Sale of Forms The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its Anambra State Congress which was earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 2, 2022 to elect new State Executive Officers for the Party in Anambra State,  A new date for the PDP Anambra State Congress will be communicated as soon as it is decided. Meanwhile the sale of Forms for the Anambra State Congress has been extended. A new date for the closure of the sale of Form will also be communicated. Ramadan: Gov. Buni of Yobe approves food items for 25,000 vulnerable households in Yobe.  As the holy month of Ramadan 1444AH sets in, His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon Mai Mala Buni has on 30th March 2022 approved a Ramadan support for 25,000 vulnerable households and IDPs across the state. His Excellency further directed Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA) to coordinate with stakeholders and ensure successful distribution of the support to targeted vulnerable household across the state. The Ramadan support is aimed at providing immediate food needs to the most vulnerable population to cushion their hardship in the holy month. YOSEMA alongside stakeholders at state and LGA levels have since initiated a distribution plan that will ensure delivery of food items to the beneficiaries effective first week of Ramadan 1444AH.  To fastrack His Excellency’s directives, YOSEMA has since dispatched consignment for six (6) LGAs while others to follow immediately

KDSG Security Update: Friday 1st April 2022.  KDSG receives belongings of passengers on attacked train. The Kaduna State Government has received luggage, valuables and other belongings of some passengers who were on the Abuja-Kaduna train AK9 which was attacked by terrorists on 28th March.  The items were handed over to the Kaduna State Government by the Military authorities, who had gathered the items from within and around the train during search operations after the attack.  Governor Nasir El-Rufa'i expressed his thanks to the Military authorities and commended them for their careful handling and documentation of the items, comprising over 100 pieces of luggage, valuables, gadgets and personal effects.  Nine persons had already collected their items after presenting proof at the point of recovery by the military.  The remaining belongings, received with a detailed inventory, will be carefully stored. MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF A UNIVERSITY STUDENT IN HOTEL ROOM The family of 26-year-old Veronica Takor, whose body was found in a hotel room in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, are trying hard to unravel the cause of her death. The remains of Veronica, a 200 level Microbiology student of Benue State University (BSU), was found in Room 406 of Madonna Guest House, located in Nyiman Layout, Makurdi, penultimate Sunday morning. While controversies about the cause of her death have continued to rage, some believe that she may have been used for ritual purposes, even as others insisted she must have been drugged to death. But her family, who insisted that, as a confirmed Catholic, she was a very good and principled lady, adding that the fact that she died in a hotel room does not change that fact. The single is titled Hayya Hayya (Better Together).  Tweeting, the singer said, “I'm honoured to be featured on the Official ⁦#FIFAWorldCup 2022 Soundtrack! See y'all later 2NITE ! Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential aspirant, is too old and too weak to run for president in 2023, says Nollywood veteran actor Pete Edochie. “Many people like Tinubu are too old and too weak to run for president. He (Tinubu) has been in power for a long time until he was made the leader of the APC,” stated Mr Edochie in an interview with BBC Igbò. “But he should leave the position for those who are younger and healthier. Let’s be honest,” the actor pointed out in response to a question on Mr Tinubu’s candidacy for the 2023 presidential election.
