March 15, 2019 Press Statement The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to direct the immediate announcement of the already collated results of the February 23, 2019 Imo North Senatorial election, as well as March 9 rerun poll, in which the PDP candidate, Hon. Ndubueze Patrick, is in clear lead. The party cautions that the continuous delay in announcing the final result, after returns have been established at the polling units, wards and Local Governments levels is already heightening tension in the state. This is more so as the results have been moved to INEC headquarters in Abuja following the harassment of INEC officials in Imo state by agents of the losing All Progressives Congress (APC) and Action Alliance (AA). From the collated results in the February 23 elections, the PDP won in all the Local Governments in Imo North before polls in two local governments; Isiala Mba

OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, PROF YEMI OSINBAJO, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, AT THE PMB/PYO VOLUNTEERS’ APPRECIATION DINNER, BANQUET HALL, ABUJA, ON THE 14TH OF MARCH, 2019. PROTOCOLS Just before I make a couple of remarks, we know that a few of our supporters lost their lives during the course of the campaign. I want us to stand for a moment and observe a minute of silence in honour of them. We thank the Lord for their souls and ask for comfort for all members of their family in Jesus name. For me, this campaign was about the Nigerian people. One of the things I discovered, and I’m sure most of us know, is that our people are so trusting and supportive of their leaders everywhere. I think that one of the major characteristics of Nigerians is how supportive they are and also they don’t ask for too much. They never really ask for anything that is impossible to do. For many of us, as we went around the country, we reali

Betty Irabor shared this photo above on Facebook yesterday with the caption ''  OTOGE!! Hubby and I were at  #itafaji  early today. We had responded to a call to go donate blood for the victims of the building that collapsed and killed many children and occupiers of the building. As we meandered our way to destination Massey hospital, I was forced to reflect on the squalor, the filth, the absolutely appalling location of a hospital dedicated to paediatric cases. Every time we wound down our windows to ask for directions to the hospital, the stench choked us. It was unbelievable that humans were inhabitants of such a place which is only about 20 mins drive from the other Lagos island occupied by the HAVES. It was even more pathetic that somewhere there used to be a school on the penthouse of an illegal structure. Who approved a school in that kind of hole?. Most of the casualties had been transferred to other hospitals for lack of adequate equipment. We were told. Many ha
