EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

KOREAN AMBASSADOR SEEKS CLOSER TIES BETWEEN NAF AND KOREAN MILITARY.{PHOTOS}.

           The Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Nigeria, Major General Lee In-Tae (Retired), today 4 July 2018, revealed the desire of his country for closer ties between the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the South Korean Armed Forces. This disclosure came when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, in his office at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (HQ NA F), Abuja earlier today. The proposed partnership is aimed at enhancing the operational capability of the NAF in the prosecution of the ongoing fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality in Nigeria. In his remarks, the South Korean Ambassador revealed that the South Korean leadership was not unaware of the major successes that had been recorded by Nigeria in the fight against insurgency.        Former Governor of Benue state  and serving Senator representing   Sen George Akume on Friday paid a condolence visit on the Executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong  over the recent attacks in Gashish Districts and other parts of the Northern Senatorial districts of the state which led to the loss of over 200 lives.      Governor Samuel Ortom has stated that Benue State will accept the pilot ranching proposed by the Federal Government only if it conforms with the provisions of the Benue Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law 2017. He spoke yesterday at NKST Central Mkar, Gboko while addressing pastors and the congregation at the 2018 Synod. Governor Ortom stated that the idea of having many ranches in a particular area which translates to cattle colony was a good one but Benue has no free land to donate for such venture. While noting that he was ready to give his all to put Benue and Nigeria in general on the global map in modern animal husbandry, Governor Ortom reaffirmed Benue’s position on ranching according to the provisions of its law.      Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday doled out N500million as grant to 275 Community Development Associations (CDAs) to enable them complete their ongoing self help projects. Governor Ambode, who presented the grant to the CDAs at De Blue Roof, LTV, Agidingbi, said it was not in doubt that the various self help projects, ranging from community halls, street light, transformers, police post, drainage and health centres by these communities were complementing the efforts of the State and Local Government to engender growth and development.        A man believed to be in his early 20s Wednesday afternoon, set himself ablaze in the Omole Phase 1 area of Ojodu, Lagos. The man, whose identity has not be confirmed, was said to had armed himself with a gallon of petrol and lighter and started narrating how Nigerians were going through hardship.A witness, Ben Chinedu, told Daily Sun that: “I was  Gate when I saw a crowd and I stopped to make enquiries. I saw a young man in his 20s; he was armed with a gallon of fuel. He was shouting on top of his voice saying that he was tired of life. He narrated how he had been running from one person to other for assistance and everyone was saying things were difficult. He told people who cared to listen that the country was under a spell that cannot be cleansed. “He said there was no hope and future for the youth, he could no longer bear the ‘suffering-and-smiling’ syndrome and pretence  showed by most people.      President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has described the death of former Minister of Finance and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Adamu Ciroma, as monumental loss to the country.
