 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.       Senate President Bukola Saraki shared this photo above with the caption '' Today, at the Senate, we passed a resolution calling on CBN to suspend the excessive ATM card maintenance charges being deducted from customers. For me, this is a major step that we have taken. This is because while in the private sector, I introduced the first ATM machine, which came into Nigeria over 25 years ago. All these years later, I believe that we should have grown out of these exorbitant charges. This is why I believe that today’s resolution is necessary, because i t affects every Nigerian — irrespective of what part of the country you come from or whatever political affiliation you might have.       October 17, 2018 By Nasir Ibrahim The police in Kano have banned the Kano chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) from embarking on a rally to call for the resignation of the governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, over an alleged $5 million bribe. Mr Ganduje appeared in a series of video, receiving money in dollars alleged to be bribe  amounting to about $5million. The money was given by persons believed to be contractors to the state government.The first set of at least 15 clips in possession of online-based Daily Nigerian was published on Sunday afternoon by the platform. The two minutes video was recorded in 2017 in what Daily Nigerian described as a sting operation aimed at beaming a spotlight on the governor’s alleged penchant for contract racketeering. The governor has debunked the video as “cloned” and threatened a sweeping lawsuit against its publisher. N54 MILLION EMPLOYMENT SCAM: EFCC ARRESTS NPC COMMANDANT.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC Gombe Zone has arrested one Mr. Ambore Enoch, Commandant, Nigerian Peace Corps, Gombe State Command for financial impropriety bordering on employment scam and extortion of money from the general public under the pretext of offering them appointment into the Corps. The arrest followed a petition by some aggrieved members of the Corps of Gombe State Command. Following investigation, it was discovered that the victims (mostly youth of Gombe State) were deceived to pay various sum of money ranging from Three Thousand Naira (N3,000) to Sixty Thousand Naira (N60,000) into the Corps account domiciled in one of the new generation banks amounting to the tune of N54 Million (Fifty Four Million Naira) only. This was between December 2016 to March 2017. In the mean time, it was discovered that out of the money realised from the corps account, the Commandant withdrew the sum of N3.5Million (Three Million, Five Hundred Thousand Nair

        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today October, 2018 re-arraigned a former governor of Katsina State Ibrahim Shehu Shema before Justice Hadiza Rabiu Shagari on a 26-count charge of Conspiracy and Money Laundering. Shema is accused of laundering N5,776,552,396 (Five Billion, Seven Hundred and Seventy Six Million, Five Hundred and Fifty Two Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety Six Naira Only) which was allegedly stolen from the account of Katsina State SURE-P.He is alleged to have conspired with one Idris Kwado who is on the run, to perpetrate the fraud.Shema's re-arraignment was sequel to the transfer of the trial judge, Justice Babagana Ashgar, to another division of the Federal High Court.  One of the charge against the former governor reads that “ You Ibrahm Shehu Shema whilst being the Executive Governor of Katsina State on or about the 17th February, 2014 at Katsina, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did indirectly control the sum of N502,216
