  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Second KDSG Security Update: Monday 3rd April 2023  KDSG bans social activities linked to violence in Nasarawa, Sabon Garin Nasarawa communities of Chikun LGA  -Three suspects arrested in relation to killing of two citizens The Kaduna State Government has banned social activities linked with the violence of Sunday night and Monday which left two citizens dead and six others injured in Sabon Garin-Tirkaniya area of Chikun LGA.  The decision was taken after a thorough appraisal of the security situation by the military, police and Department of State Services, as well as an emergency meeting with traditional and religious leaders of the area at the 312 Artillery Regiment Kaduna.  The social activities observed in the community, which are now prohibited with immediate effect are listed as follows:  -Kidan Bishi  -Kidan Gala -Hunting expeditions  The government has also directed the arrest of anyone linked with the peddling of hard drugs in Nasarawa and Sabon Garin Nasarawa.  Furthermore,

Soludo Closes School, Fires Teacher Over Exam Malpractices  ***  Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has closed down the Tower Primary School, Oba over alleged involvement in examination malpractices during the 2023 Transition Placement Examination.  The Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh announced the school’s closure after a meeting to investigate the case of examination misconduct reported against a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) teacher, Precious Chibuzo, who invigilated the exam at the Umuogali Community Primary School, Oba. According to a statement by Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, investigation carried out by the Ministry following reports from pupils of Triumphant Cross School Oba, revealed that Proprietress of the Tower Academy Oba, Kosisochukwu Igwe connived with the students in the misconduct.

Nigerian Popular singer and activist, Charles Oputa, aka, Charly Boy, has revealed that he survived prostate cancer. Charly Boy disclosed this in a post on his Instagram page on Saturday, saying that he had been battling the ailment for over 10 days. According to him, surviving prostate cancer is the greatest favour God has done for him. He appreciated God for sparing his life and his family for their support. He also thanked the Nigerian doctor who performed his surgery. Alongside a video of him being wheeled out of the theatre, Charly Boy wrote, “Gosh, I have fought one too many battles in my short life. EFCC Arrests 21 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Enugu Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC, on Monday, April 3, 2023, arrested twenty one suspected internet fraudsters in the Emene and New Kenyata, axis of Enugu. The suspects are Kenneth Arinze Godfrey, Anichukwu Emmanuel Aku, Michael Israel Chukwuemeka, Anichukwu Obinna Christian Eze Chigozie Collins, Ije Samuel Chinenye, Ngwu Peter Damian, Johnson Wisdom Kelechi, Jude Leo Nelson, Tochukwu Ononuju Nelson, David Chinecherem Ezeagu and Okonkwo Kingsley Obinna. Others are Chukwu John Chibuzor, Ogbonna Okechukwu Precious, Benedict Oluebubu Akarekwe, Akarekwe Michael chidera, Chinedu Amuka, Chukwunonso Emmanuel Oji, Chukwunonso Mmaduabuchi Obodo, Asogwa Christopher Ejiofor and Nnadi Chukwuemeka Leonard. PALM SUNDAY ATTACK: GUNMEN STORM BENUE CHURCH, KILL WORSHIPPER, KIDNAP PASTOR, 4 OTHERS 3rd April, 2023      As Christians all over the world celebrated Palm Sunday, unknown gunmen invaded the Christians Pentecostal Church located at Akenawe, Tswarev in Ukemberagya/Tswarev of Logo local government area of Benue State, killing one worshipper and kidnapping the church Pastor and four other persons. Our correspondent gathered from locals in the area that the unknown gunmen had at about 11am on Sunday, opened fire on the harmless worshippers while an healing mass was ongoing. Court Grants Portable Bail Habeeb Okikiola, the controversial singer popularly known as Portable, on Monday appeared before an Ogun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ifo. Portable was detained at the police headquarters on Friday after ignoring many invites. When he appeared before the court on Monday, Portable pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him. Portable was also accused of assaulting one of his boys. He has since been granted bail.

KDSG Security Update: Monday 3rd April 2023 24-hour curfew imposed on Sabon Garin Nasarawa-Tirkaniya area of Chikun LGA The Kaduna State Government hereby announces the immediate imposition of 24-hour curfew on Sabon Garin Nassarawa-Tirkaniya area of Chikun LGA.  This decision was reached following a breakdown of law and order which led to the killing of two citizens in an incident of urban gang violence.  Security agencies have been directed to enforce the curfew in the said location, to restore order as investigations proceed. Citizens are therefore urged to strictly observe the curfew in this location, which takes effect immediately. A young girl named Ogochukwu Ozoemena died on the night of Thursday 30th March 2023 at her home town at Uga in Anambra State. She was alleged to have been struck by something in her father's compound and this led to serious episodes of convulsion. And she battled the sickness for weeks until she died last night. Following the circumstances surrounding her death, her mother was accused of killing her own daughter, Youth asked her to cross the dead body four times and later forced her to carry the corpse.   Lots of Charms buried in the compound were excavated and some has decayed. One of the brother's ran away while the charms were being turned up. The woman was also accused of not being at peace with most of her children. Watch video and more photos below.

FG To Demolish Bishop Oyedepo’s Hangar At Lagos Airport  April 3, 2023 Bishop David Oyedepo Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika over the weekend vowed to demolish two hangars located at the Murtala Mohammad Airport Ikeja in order to pave way for the expansion of the terminal apron.
