 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.   Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, have arrested 44 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos.   The Head of the Kano Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mualledi Farouq Dogondaji on June 4, 2021 charged members of the Chinese community in Kano to be law abiding in carrying out their businesses. Dogondaji gave the charge when he received the Chairman of the Chinese Business Community Association of Nigeria, Kano Chapter, Mike Zhang, who paid him a courtesy visit. The Zonal Head further called on the Chinese businessmen to always respect the laws of Nigeria and pay their taxes as and when due. Dogondaji also encouraged the Chinese Business Community to serve as a bridge between the Commission and Chinese Government as it will ease the Commission’s investigation activities through information sharing. I assured the youth corps members that we would address the issues raised by the Commandant about the state of the camp. I also told them we would increase their allowance from N5,000 to N15,000. I also shared with them how it was during my national youth service in Port-Harcourt that I got a job and met and married my lovely wife, @iamominini. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the suspension in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, citing the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria's corporate existence. The Minister said the Federal Government has also directed the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to immediately commence the process of licensing all OTT and social media operations in Nigeria.
