OSUN: ADELEKE, ASSEMBLY LOSE AS COURT AFFIRMS JUSTICE OJI AS CHIEF JUDGE. (PHOTO).

 Osun: Adeleke, Assembly lose as court affirms Justice Ojo as Chief Judge The National Industrial Court sitting in Ibadan has affirmed Justice Adepele Ojo as the Chief Judge of Osun State. The decision was contained in a judgment delivered by Justice Peters in a suit numbered NICN/IB/62/2023, on Wednesday in Ibadan. The court granted all the reliefs sought by the Osun Chief Judge against the Osun State Government and Osun State House of Assembly, including an order of perpetual injunction restraining both the executive and legislative arms of government from removing her as the number one judicial officer in the state. Matters came to a head between the Osun State Government and Justice Ojo in 2023 when the Osun Assembly passed a motion suspending her as Chief Judge of the state.       Operatives of the Abuja Head Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have apprehended seven internet fraudsters at the Sunshine Estate, Gwarinpa, a metropolis at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, as part of the resolve of the acting EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, to ensure that online fraud is reduced to the barest minimum. They are: Asuquo Happiness, Agboje Lucky, Emmanuel Ochuko Okume, Lucky Ijire, Karo Ijire, Chinaka Chijoke Promise and Ibrahim Adiat. The suspects, who were arrested on June 11, 2019 had in their possession a Toyota Camry 2018 and a Toyota Corolla, as well as Infinix, Nokia and iPhones mobile phones. Investigations into their nefarious activities, which spanned months, revealed that they specialized in stealing people’s identities on social media, particularly FaceBook and Instagram. They then use the stolen identities to create fake profiles, using same to establish fraudulent relationships, with the aim of defrauding their victims

      Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared total war on traffic offence, saying special courts will be created to try offenders, who will be made to serve their punishment if found guilty at the point of contravention.       The need for continuous capacity development to meet the evolving imperatives for specialist skillsets, such as Force Protection, required in the ongoing counterinsurgency and anti-armed banditry operations cannot be overemphasized. In line with these imperatives, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 15 June 2019, graduated 707 Regiment and Air Police personnel trained in Force Protection in Complex Air-Ground Environment (FP-CAGE). In addition to the FP-CAGE Course 8/2019, the combined graduation ceremony, which took place at the Regiment Training Centre (RTC) Kaduna, also marked the completion of the Basic Regiment Officers’ Course 14/2019, Advanced Regiment Airmen’s Course 3/201 as well as the Basic Regiment Airmen’s Course 27/2019.
