 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. EFCC Arrests Suspected Yahoo Boy in Makurdi The Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested a suspected internet fraudster, Abur David Aondowase in Makurdi, Benue State. He was arrested on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 at his hideout in Makurdi, Benue State. Items recovered from the suspect include two laptops, an iPhone, different ATM cards and one Lexus ES 350 car. The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

EFCC Busts ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Boys’ Hideouts, Arrests 18 in Ilorin Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, November 18, 2022 arrested eighteen suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Ilorin, Kwara State. They are Adeleye Ayodeji, Muhammed Ayub, Odelade Samuel, Sodiq Olanrewaju, Ola Francis, Adeniyi Damilare, Olalekan Samad, Tunde Ayodele, Zubair Buhari and Oladosu Naheem. Others are Olowokere Jamiu, Lawal Usman, Jamiu Abdulrasaq, Lawal Ahmed, Opeyemi Samuel, Alarape Ahmed, Kolawole Daniel and Ganiyu Taofeek. The suspects were smoked out of their hideouts at different locations following credible intelligence on their fraudulent activities in Ilorin and its environs. Specifically, they were arrested at Sobi, Akerebiata and Las Vegas Estate, Asa Dam, Ilorin. Territory High Court Abuja, which today dismissed the 10-count charge of corruption brought against a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal. Lawal, his younger brother, Hamidu David Lawal, Suleiman Abubakar and Apeh John Monday are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alongside two companies, Rholavision Engineering (fifth defendant) and Josmon Technologies (sixth defendant) on amended 10-count charge, bordering on fraud, diversion of funds and criminal conspiracy to the tune of over N544million. Naira redesign: Squeeze, spray notes, face wrath of law — CBN The Central Bank of Nigeria has reemphasised the need for Nigerians to handle the new naira notes with dignity as strict consequences await those mishandling the currency. Speaking at a sensitisation, enlightenment and bank fair programme held in Osogbo, Osun state on Thursday, ahead of the introduction of the redesign notes, the CBN’s Director of Corporate Communications, Mr, Osita Nwanisobi, said the naira is a symbol of national pride and must be handle with care. Buhari sacks NYSC DG 6 months after appointment Less than six months after assuming office as the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate removal of Brigadier-General Muhammad Kukah Fadah, from office as the Scheme’s DG. Although reasons have not been provided (at press time) by the presidency for the sacking of Gen. Fadah, credible sources in the Villa told PRNigeria that the NYSC boss’ removal is not unconnected with the fact that Fadah has exhibited ‘glaring incompetence’ in the 6 months he has piloted the affairs of NYSC. Meanwhile, PRNigeria gathered that the ousted NYSC Director General has been asked to hand over to the most senior civil servant in the organisation, who is to act as DG in the interim.

A WOMAN TORTURED HER HOUSEHELP TO DEATH IN PLATEAU STATE.(PHOTOS).

Woman Tortures Her Househelp To Death. An 11 year old girl, identified as Margaret Joshua has died as a result of alleged physical abuse by her guardian, Mrs. Nneamaka Nwachukwu, a Microbiologist who works in one of the Research Institutes in Vom, Jos South local government area of Plateau State. The 11 year old victim who hail from Kebbi State, was came to live with Mrs Nneamaka Nwachukwu after insecurity forced her and her parents out of thier community in kwara state. Mrs Nwachukwu, a mother of two did not enroll the victim in any school for over one year that the girl had spent with her,  Neighbors allege that Mrs Nwachukwu indulged in the daily beating of the girl until she finally died as the result of the assault.  A concerned neighbor told police that after a recent beating, the girl was forced to sit in a container with hot water which burnt her buttocks and she died in the hospital on Monday, November 14.
