 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

STREET LIGHTING: LAGOS IS SET TO INSTALL ADDITIONAL 10,000 LED LIGHTS.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Lagos State Government has so far effectively installed street lighting in about 1300kilometres across the State, with a projection to deliver another 82kilometres by the end of the year, Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr Olawale Oluwo has said. Speaking to journalists while inspecting ongoing projects in the sector with his team on Sunday, Oluwo said since the assumption of office of the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, concerted efforts have been made to ensure that every nook and cranny of the State is well lit in line with operation ‘Light Up Lagos Project,’ which is an initiative of the present administration.       Governor Samuel Ortom yesterday at the Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja, was presented with an 'Award of Exemplary Leadership In Defence of Benue' by the Conference of Benue Journalists, CBJ. The group hinged the award on the enactment of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law and its implementation and the Governor's firm positon despite threats to his life and political ambition. President of the CBJ, Mr. Terfa Ifer speaking before the presentation of the award, lamented the spate of killings and displacement of farmers by armed herdsmen across Nigeria especially in Benue State. He stated that as food basket of the nation, Benue must be safe for farmers to produce enough food for local consumption and export.     Three months after the death of Raskimono,his wife Efemena Okedi passed away in the early hours of today sunday.According to a close source to her family who said ''She wasn't sick,infact she attended a friend's birthday bash yesterday at Elegushi Beach on the Island,she came back sometime past ten last night.She was rushed to County Hospital Ogba,around 3-4 am this morning,where she was confirmed dead''.May her soul rest in peace,Amen.

    The South-South PDP Gubernatorial Screening Committee on Saturday screened and cleared Governors Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (Rivers), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) and Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom) to contest their respective state governorship primaries .
