  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kaduna Zonal office has re-arraigned one Alhaji Yushau Mohammed Ahmed before Justice Z.B. Abubakar of the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna, Kaduna State on a one count charge bordering on failure to make full disclosure of all his assets in his asset declaration form. The defendant was first arraigned on 3rd December, 2020 and granted bail on 18th January, 2021 but was re-arraigned on Wednesday June 23, 2021 following the transfer of the former trial judge, Justice M. The convicts: Eneji Emmanuel, (a.k.a Karen Moana, Buccly Clunder, Mainer Chic, Karen Klunder) Adie Stephen Udie (alias Laura Vazquze), Nwandike Kelechi (a.k.a Bradley) and Victor Francis (alias Donald Walter), pleaded guilty to separate charges bordering on love scam and obtaining by false pretence. In view of their pleas, the prosecution counsel, Segun R. Akinrinlade urged the court to convict them in accordance with the plea bargain agreement among the parties. Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has mourned the passing of former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Babatunde Olusola Benson (SAN). Chief Benson, a renowned lawyer and Asiwaju of Ikorodu, died on Thursday at age 88.  2023: INEC Launches Online Portal For Voters To Register THE Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Nigeria on Thursday launched an online portal for eligible voters to register ahead of the 2023 general elections.   Men of the Lagos state police command have also arrested the father of Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, the 300 level student of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, who confessed to killing the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga.   A police source who spoke on condition of anonymity to  Punch , said Chidinma's father was arrested for violently resisting the arrest of his daughter when the police visited their home on Wednesday, June 23, to pick her up. The source added that the man did not believe that his daughter committed any crime until she confessed on Thursday, adding that he was being detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba. “She (Chidinma) stays with her dad. Buhari appoints Emmanuel Jime as head of the Nigerian Shipping Council President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of Emmanuel Lyambee Jime as Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council. The appointment is for a renewable term of four years. Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu made the announcement in a statement Thursday night. Jime, who has a law degree, is expected to use his vast experience in the new position having distinguished himself in various public positions. The designated person was previously Managing Director of the Nigerian Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA). Jime was a member of the House of Representatives for two terms. Represented the Makurdi / Guma Federal Constituency of Benue between 2007 and 2015. Jime was Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly from 1992 to 1993.
