 Fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja, Ondo, Osun, others • Independent marketers sell PMS between N625 and N799 per litre There is no succour yet for motorists and other petrol end users despite the Thursday statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that it had resolved the logistic problems that sparked the supply crisis. Reports from across the country yesterday showed that many filling stations had no fuel to sell. Some sold over and above the threshold of N650 per litre while motorists and other buyers besieged the few ones that sold within the range of N600 per litre. While many petrol stations in Lagos sold fuel at the normal price and queues were not noticeable, it was a different story in the industrial town of Ota, Ogun State where some filling stations hiked their pump price to N799 per litre. A CATHOLIC CHURCH COLLAPSED ON MEMBERS TODAY DURING CHURCH SERVICE IN DELTA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

          Many worshippers of the St. Paul Catholic Church Ugolo, Adagbrasa, in Okpe local government area of Delta State, were on Sunday morning, reportedly trapped when the church building collapsed during morning mass service. Sadly, a worshipper has been confirmed dead and scores injured.  According to DailyTrust, eyewitnesses revealed that the immediate cause of the collapse could not be ascertained yet.   It was gathered that the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has directed a delegation led by the State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, to visit the scene with the aim of unravelling the circumstances surrounding the collapse of the church building.  The Governor, who expressed sadness over the death of the worshipper, also directed the government delegation to advise government on how it can assist victims of the collapse.  In a statement issued on Sunday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Governor Okowa described the unfortunate incid

The Assistant-Inspector General of Police Zone 2 Command, Lagos, AIG Ibrahim Adamu has reviewed the Orderly Room proceedings and approved the punishment of dismissal of AP. No. 136207 Inspector Charles Olusola Omotosho from the  Nigeria Police Force  with effect from 16.07.2018. Omotosho attached to SARS Ikorodu, Lagos State at the time was found guilty of Corrupt Practices and Discreditable Conduct contrary to Para. C (ii) and E (iii) of 1st Schedule of  the Police Act and Regulations CAP. P19 LFN 2004. Three other officers (names withheld) who accompanied Omotosho during the illegal act (click #PCRRU316356 for case details) were awarded punishment of reduction in rank from Sergeant to Corporal by the AIG.      Governor Samuel Ortom has stated that those conniving with enemies of the state to execute clandestine agenda will always be put to shame. He spoke today at Chihichan, Mbakume in Gwer-East local government area during the burial of late David Upuu, elder brother to the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Internal Affairs, Mr. Boniface Nyaakor. According to him, those plotting evil against his administration would always come behind, stressing that prayers from the church had helped in saving democracy from its enemies in the state. The Governor stated that attacks on Benue communities by militia herdsmen had only subsided due to the presence of Operation Whirl Stroke, noting that some security agents were killed recently by the marauders. He revealed that from January to August 2018, close to 50 security operatives had fallen prey to activities of militia herdsmen. NIGERIA, CHINA TO SIGN $328 MILLION AGREEMENT ON ICT AS PRESIDENT BUHARI ARRIVED BEIJING YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

       President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Beijing Saturday to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) holding September 3 - 4, 2018. During the 6-day official visit of the Nigerian President, he is expected to join his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping to witness the signing of an agreement on the National Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure Backbone Phase 11 (NICTIB 11) between Galaxy Backbone Limited and Huawei Technologies Limited (HUAWEI) at the cost of US $328 million facility provided by the Chinese EXIM Bank. The bank facility is for the development of NICTIB 11 project which is consistent with the current administration’s commitment to incorporating the development of ICT into national strategic planning under the National Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).
