                         Our attention has been drawn to insinuations in some quarters that the Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,dismised some civil servants due to the ongoing strike action in the state.For the avoidance of doubt,we will like to state unequivocally that there is no iota of truth to this speculation.Contrary to such claims,what truly transpired is that the Ogun State Civil Service Commission,in furtherance of its statutory responsibility of maintaining discipline and adherence to public service rules and extant regulations,on Monday,took the decisition to sanction some civil servants.The affected civil servants were alleged to have been involved in certain acts of misconduct in the course of the 2016 World Teachers Day celebration on October 5,2016 way before the ongoing strike action commenced.In a statement issued on Monday and signed by the Ogun State Head of Service Commission explained that...

      Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed at a checkpoint in Gubio,Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State at about 9.15am this morning,foiled a suicide attack on Gubio town by 8 Boko Haram terrorists.The suicide bombers who came in a Bedford pick up vehicle primed with Improvised Explosive Devices including suicide vests,attempted to force their way through the checkpoint but met stiff resistance from troops who insisted that the vehicle be thoroughly checked.The suicide bombers refused and blew up themselves by detonating one of the suicide vests killing all the 8 Boko Haram terrorists on board.                         The United States Senate confirmed Career Service Officer,Ambassador W. Stuart Symington to serve as U.S Ambassador to Nigeria early October 2016,but President Barack Obama had on July 13,2016,appointed him as an Ambassador to Nigeria in which he replaced James Entwistle,who retired in July from the United States Foreign Service in July,after 35 and half years of service.So yesterday monday,Ambassador W.
