 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. PRESS RELEASE POLICE NOT AWARE OF COURT ORDER ON REINSTATEMENT OF DISMISSED OFFICER As IGP Would Never Disregard Court Ruling, Rule Of Law The Nigeria Police Force wishes to state emphatically that the office of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+),NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR, did not disregard Court Order or rule of law as the office is not aware of any Court Order, during the current IGP's tenure, with respect to a matter making the round in the media that the IGP disobeyed a Court Order for the reinstatement of a dismissed officer of the Force.  It is instructive to note that the case in point concerns an officer who was dismissed as far back as 1992, a few years after the current IGP joined the Nigeria Police Force, based on available facts gleaned from the reports. Students' Association Apologises To Aisha Buhari Over Aminu Mohammed's Arrest The National Association of Nigerian Students has apologised to Aisha Buhari, wife of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), over the arrest of a student of the Federal University, Dutse Jigawa, Aminu Mohammed, by the Nigeria Police. Condemnations had trailed the reported arrest of Mohammed over a tweet on the First Lady. Notable Nigerians including social activist, Aisha Yesufu, knocked Aisha for allegedly using her power against the student. While initial reports were that Mohammed was arrested by the Department of State Services, NANS revealed that he was rather arrested by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, who traced Mohammed to Jigawa where he was picked up. A native doctor, Idowu Talabi, was on Sunday 27th of November 2022, arrested  by men of Ogun state Police Command for killing his 30 years old co- tenant, Isau Oluwatobiloba. The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Ikenne divisional headquarters by the wife of the deceased, who reported that she returned from Church vigil at about 6:00 am only to discover the lifeless body of her husband lying in the pool of his own blood in their house at No 4, Best way Moro street Ikenne, having been matcheted to death by an unknown person.  Upon the report, the DPO Ikenne division, CSP Ibrahim Ningi, led his detectives to the scene, where it was discovered that the deceased was matcheted to death while sleeping on his bed. Zamfara community pays N20m to avert terrorists attack Residents of Gidan-goga village, in the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, have paid the N20m levy imposed on them by bandits’ leader, Bello Turji, to forestall attacks on their community. It was gathered Pgathered that Turji, who imposed the N20m levy on residents of the village, asked them to pay the money on or before Sunday, November 27, or face his wrath. He threatened to attack the village if the money was not paid on or before the deadline. NELSPRUIT - Two male suspects aged 25 and 27 have been arrested for allegedly attempting to kill their 68 year old father at Maviljan Trust outside Bushbuckridge. According to information, it's alleged that the victim was asleep last night, Monday 28 November 2022 at about 22:30 in his house, when he heard a knock from his bedroom door. It is further alleged that one of his son indicated to him that he was bringing back a key. Instead of opening the door, the father only opened a window to receive the key and that was when he met hail of bullets, hitting him on the thigh. Three people outside and two of them were allegedly his own sons. He fortunately managed to call the police and the medical personnel who came to his rescue. The victim was transported to hospital for medical treatment.
