                   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has recovered jewelleries worth millions of Naira from the house of one Akka Babba Danagundi,brother-in-law t a former National Security Adviser to Late President,Umar Musa Yar'aduwa,Major General Abdullahi Sarki Mukhtar.The jewelleries were found in a fireproof safe hidden in a house belomging to one Akka Babba Danagundi at No.375,Gwangwazo quarters of Kano Municipal,Kano State.About 50 documents in respect of landed properties bearing the name of the former NSA and his wife,Binta Sarki Mukhtar were also discovered. This discovery was sequel to an intelligence report alleging that huge sums of money including foreign currencies were hidden in the premises.During the operation,Aiko Fireproof safe and seven suspects including the house owner,Danagundi were arrested and brought to EFCC's Kano Zonal Office where their statements was taken.On arriving at the commission's Kano Z...

               The Lagos State Government,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has called for an urgent handover of the National Stadium abandoned by the Federal Government since 2005 to the State Government to enable it handle the renovation and manage it effectively.Ambode made the call after embarking on the inspection tour of the facilities in the stadfium alongside the Minister of Youth and Sports,Mr. Solomon Dalung,Nigeria Football Federation {NFF} President Amaju Pinnick,Commissioner of Information and Strategy,Mr Steve Ayorinde and other government functionaries.              A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed six of the 11 charges brought against Nnamdi Kanu,leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra {IPOB}, by the federal government of Nigeria.The charges dismissed bordered on ''ownership of unlawful society,illegal importation of radio transmitters and researching on how to make improvised explosive devices''.Presiding judge Justice Binta Nyako said she took the decision to dismiss the six charges because the prosecutor did not present any evidence.Kanu would however be re-arraigned on a five-count charge of treasonable felony,she said.

                                                           A fatal accident involving a Toyota Hilux SUT and a bus conveying some students of Oko Poly has claimed the lives of 5 persons.According to our sources,the cause of the accident which occurred at the Umuokpala Road in Awgbu,Orumba North yesterday evening was due to over-speeding but an eyewitness account had it that the major cause of the accident was a goat which was said to be crossing the road.According to the eyewitness,the Hilux Truck which was driven by the first son of the Igwe of Mbaukwu who name was given as Emeka Anugwu tried to avoid hitting the said goat which was crossing into the highway and in the process,lost control and ran into the bus which was coming in the opposite direction.The driver of the bus and 5 students in the bus died in the scene of the accident while...

Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Calabar,Cross Rivers State has convicted and sentenced one Patrick Egbe Ekpolo to two years imprisonment.The convict who was ordered by the judge to restitute the entire sum N107 million to the victims however gave the convict an option of One Hundred Thousand Naira fine in lieu of the sentence. The convict was first arraigned sometimes in August,2015 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on a three-count charge bordering on issuance of dud cheque.He later changed his plea from not guilty to guilty on an amended oone count charge bordering on issuance off dud cheque to the tune of N10,700,000.00 {Ten Million,Seven Hundred Thousand Naira}.
