 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF ADAMAWA STATE WHO IS A CHRISTIAN,DONATED A MOSQUE TO MUSLIMS TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

         According to PM news,the Deputy Governor of Adamawa,Mr Martins Babale,has donated a Jma'at Mosque to Dalsum community in Toungo Local Government Area of the state.Babale said while presenting the mosque today wednesday that the measure was an effort to boost peaceful co-existence among the diverse communities in the state.The deputy governor,a Christian said he built the mosque to promote peaceful co-existence among the local communities in the area.He emphasised that the era of unnecessary conflicts and misunderstanding between followers of different religions was over and stressed the need to live together harmoniously with tolerance.''Today I am fulfilling one of my wishes to our people.I prayed that the Mosque will also serve as a centre which will unite our community,'' Babale saidd.Alhaji Musa Gindau,the District Head of Dalsum,commended the courageous and generous effort of the deputy governor,describing him as a ''peace promoter''.On

                         Another report reaching my news table is that another tragedy has struck in India as a passenger train derailed in India's northern Uttar Pradesh state has Injured at least 50 people.Fifteen carriages of the Ajmer-Sealdah Express came off the tracks early today wednesday.All remaining passengers have now been rescued.Earlier senior Kanpur police official zaki Ahmed said two people had died but Indian Railways did not confirm this.More photos below.

                  Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on tuesday announced readiness of the State Government to offer amnesty to cultists willing to renounce their membership of cult groups and turn a new leaf.Governor Ambode,who stated this in Ikorodu at the ongoing One Lagos Fiesta ,said his administration has perfected plans to use next year to rehabilitate all those involved in one form of criminality or the other and are ready to be law abiding,with the view to making them live normal lives and contribute meaningfully to the society.While noting with concern the rising spate of cultism and other crimes especially in the Ikorodu axis,the Governor said in as much as the government has capacity to deal with such crimes,he nevertheless said amnesty is being offered to encourage those willing to turn away from their old ways and embrace new lives.''In the last few months,we have been having a lot of challenges with cultism in Ikorodu area and a lot of issues that relate to

A YOUNG BOY WAS FOUND ABANDONED IN A CARTON ON CHRISTMAS DAY ON THE STREETS OF YABA LAGOS.{PHOTOS}.

                                                               According to another eyewitness: ''This boy of about a year old was put in a box and dumped in the gutter on Alara street in Yaba on Christmas day.He was found by the OPC vigilanted group on patrol crawling out of the gutter.He hasn't started talking and so no information was got from him,we don't know if he is Yoruba,Hausa or Igbo.In the picture is the carton he was put in,a bunch of bananas and a wrapper.He has since been taken to Sabo police station by residents of the area.More photos below.

                      For the people of Magboro and it's environs,this year Christmas holiday is one not to be forgotten in a hurry.And the reason for this is not far-fetched.On Sunday Christmas day,the community which has not been on the national power grid for many years had power switched on.With this development ,some persons who have lived in Magboro community for close to Ten years without electricity were able to switch on power for the first time.Now,this is another promise kept by Governor Ibikunle Amosun.Although power supply to the Magboro community and indeed the whole of Ogun State falls under the purview of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company,IBEDC,a private company ,the state government has continued to interface with this company with a view to ensuring that it keeps its promise of switching on electricity in Magboro on Christmas day.This is a further confirmation of the commitment of the Senaator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration's commitment to the welfar
