OSUN: ADELEKE, ASSEMBLY LOSE AS COURT AFFIRMS JUSTICE OJI AS CHIEF JUDGE. (PHOTO).

 Osun: Adeleke, Assembly lose as court affirms Justice Ojo as Chief Judge The National Industrial Court sitting in Ibadan has affirmed Justice Adepele Ojo as the Chief Judge of Osun State. The decision was contained in a judgment delivered by Justice Peters in a suit numbered NICN/IB/62/2023, on Wednesday in Ibadan. The court granted all the reliefs sought by the Osun Chief Judge against the Osun State Government and Osun State House of Assembly, including an order of perpetual injunction restraining both the executive and legislative arms of government from removing her as the number one judicial officer in the state. Matters came to a head between the Osun State Government and Justice Ojo in 2023 when the Osun Assembly passed a motion suspending her as Chief Judge of the state. Bauchi students protest separation of boys from girls in their schools Male secondary school students in Bauchi State took to the streets today September 26 to stage a protest against the decision of the state government to separate male students from their female colleagues. The state Commissioner for Education, Aliyu Tilde, last week announced plans by the state government to separate male and female students in secondary schools. He added that the decision is aimed at addressing the moral decay which has become prevalent among students of secondary schools, and according to him, private schools are expected to key into the initiative and separate the males who would be attending their academic activities in one institution and the females in a separate institution. The students resumed school today and took to the streets to express their disapproval. More photos below.

7,600 New Kaduna Teachers Wait For Salary, Postings 8 Months After Employment Secondary school teachers employed by Kaduna State Governnent on July 19, 2021, and posted on May 17, 2022 are yet to receive their first salary, according to investigations by Dateline Nigeria. This paper had reported how the new teachers spent 10 months with neither posting nor salary, with many of them expressing uncertainty over their fate. “When we received our postings after 10 months of waiting, we were hopeful that at least we will start getting salary because many of us had resigned from our previous jobs to take up this one,” Ayuba Tanko, told Dateline Nigeria on Friday. Members of Okpuno Okochi Quarters Protest Leadership Imposition By Community Leadership Members of Okochi quarters in Okpuno community, Awka South Local Government Area,  have staged a peaceful protest, alleging leadership imposition on them by certain persons in the community. The protest, which took around the villages that make-up the quarters, called on Anambra State Government to wade into the matter. The protest simultaneously took place at Okachamma, Obunamma and Umuife villages of Okochi Quarters on the scheduled day for chairmanship election across the villages. Young Man Who Killed Parents In Nnewi Apprehended Information reaching our desk has it that the young man who killed his both parents in Abubo-Nnewichi Area of Nnewi has been arrested. He has been on the run since the news of the murder of his parents broke out, according to our sources his arrest was a product of a joint effort of the Local Vigilante and the Nigerian Police. According to the Police proper investigation will be carried out as the young man aside being a prime suspect of the murder also looks like a hard drug addict, the outcome of the investigation will determine the next line of action which will most likely the young man being charged to court.

ICPC Inaugurates Committee to Manage Forfeited Assets The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, SAN has inaugurated a 14-man Asset Disposal Committee to manage assets forfeited to the federal government.  Speaking at the ceremony which held at the ICPC headquarters in Abuja, Prof Owasanoye said that to ensure transparency and accountability in forfeited assets, the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) mandated the creation of an Asset Disposal Committee in every agency to manage recovered assets.   “For the purpose of putting sanity and clarity in the entire process, one of the things POCA mandated is the creation, in every agency, of a department to manage recovered assets. By law, all the agencies that recover must have a department to manage assets. For example, if a perishable item is recovered, the agency has the power to dispose them immediately”. PRESIDENT BUHARI TO CONFER CON NATIONAL HONOUR ON GOV AKEREDOLU  Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has been named as one of the recipients of the 2022 National Honour Award of the Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON by President Muhammadu Buhari. This was contained in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs signed by the Minister, Senator George Akume.  The Minister in the letter, which read in parts, said: “I have the honour to formally inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the conferment of the National Honours on you, in the rank of CON (Commander of the Order of the Niger). “The investiture ceremony is scheduled to take place at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja on Tuesday, 11th October 2022 at 9:00 am”.

Rudeboy reacts to arrest of suspected kidnapper Singer Paul Okoye aka Rudeboy has reacted to the arrest of a suspected kidnapper, John Lyon on Sunday. The notorious kidnapper was arrested by operatives attached to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Saturday. In a video on social media, the suspect was seen shedding tears and pleading for mercy. In a post shared on the music star's Instagram stories on Sunday, the 40-year-old musician slam8 ladies for flirting with Lyon without caring about what he does for a living. He wrote: “A big boy was caught after discovering he was a kidnapper. But I wan ask oh, after seeing him with different ladies flaunting money, so none of these ladies ever asked him that question?
