  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.  PRESS RELEASE  NAF REVIEWS TRAINING CURRICULA TO MEET EMERGING SECURITY CHALLANGES The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, has stated that for personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to be combat ready and operate at optimum level to counter both domestic and foreign threats, the need to review the curriculum of its training institutions and facilities has become expedient. The CAS stated this at the winging ceremony of some pilots and operators held recently at Headquarters NAF, Abuja. According to Air Marshal Amao, the NAF recently reviewed the curricula of the various schools in the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) to meet expected standards, whilst also conducting instructional training for the instructors to ensure enhanced performance. Today The Duke of Cambridge held an Investiture and there were some sporting greats amongst the recipients. Former rugby league footballer Kevin Sinfield received an OBE in recognition of his incredible fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Association in honour of his friend and team mate Rob Burrow. Sir Clive Lloyd, one of the most successful Test captains, was awarded a Knighthood for services to cricket. Sir Clive has played for, captained and managed the West Indies Cricket team.  England Cricket ODI and Middlesex County Cricket Club T20  Captain Eoin Morgan received a CBE for services to cricket. Reigning World Women's Snooker Champion, Reanne Evans was awarded an MBE. Former jockey Ron Atkins was awarded an MBE. Ron played a key role campaigning for jockey safety.  Finally, fitness guru Derrick Evans, aka Mr Motivator, received an MBE for services to Health & Fitness. More photos below.

Five Convicted Fraudsters in Abeokuta to Return $4,641 to Victims The Ibadan Zonal Command of the EFCC, on Monday, January 10, 2022, secured the conviction of five fraudsters who were ordered to return a total of $4,641 to their victims. They were convicted by  Justice Ayokunle Rotimi-Balogun of Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta.  The convicts are: Opeyemi Oluwaseun Ayede (a.k.a Mary Mark, Nicolete Shea), Taiwo Adeniyi Onasanya (a.k.a Fred Howard),Winner Chuks Olubor(a.k.a Tracy Richards), Sodiq Olamide Ganiu(a.k.a Rosemary) and Adebowale Taofeek Jimoh(a.k.a Schulist Carleen). They were convicted and sentenced to four months imprisonment each, for the offence of obtaining money under false pretences, contrary to section 419  of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State,2000. The court also ordered the convicts to restitute their victims.

Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala, a former Governor of Oyo State, is dead. Details of his death are sketchy but sources close to the politician confirmed the tragic incident to newsmen. The politician, who had been battling terminal ailment for a while, died in his Ogbomoso country home, on Wednesday morning, according to sources. A top source in the All Progressives Congress (APC) who confirmed his death to Daily Trust on Wednesday morning, said he died in his room.

Nigerian police force arrested a 20 year old Moses Oko, Suspected killer of Anthony Jennifer a  300L Student of University of Jos(UNIJOS). Moses Oko who allegedly murdered the deceased on the eve of the New year was paraded on Wednesday alongside other criminal suspects various crimes including, kidnapping, cultism, human trafficking and armed robbery. The 20-year-old suspect was said to have removed her two eyes and mutilated other parts of her body for Ritual purposes at it was stated on our platform. Before his Arrest, Moses Oko parents cut off his Hair disguised him as a mad man and put him in a Psychiatric Hospital. More photos below.
