 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

       An interface between Governor Ayodele Fayose and civil servants from grade levels 1 to 13 at the government house pavilion, Ado-Ekiti is presently ongoing. Governor Fayose who thanked the workers for their support addressed issues raised by the civil servants, while some of the problems were solved immediately, mechanism was put in place to resolve others. Also at the meeting, governor Fayose informed the civil servants that he has received #4.76b Paris Club refund, he told them the money will be shared between the state and local government next week. Fayose who directed the Accountant General to make sure workers get their Xmas bonus latest Thursday 21st December, 2017 also assured them that leave bonus and salaries will be paid. AMBODE RELEASED 12 KIRIKIRI PRISON INMATES TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

        Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Tuesday released twelve inmates of the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Apapa in furtherance of the law establishing the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy. The inmates have spent between thirty-four and twenty years in prison and were released having satisfied basic conditions such as remorse, good behaviour and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the society. Speaking while handing over the release order from the Governor to the Lagos Prisons Command, Chairman of the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo said the release of the inmates was in line with the commitment of the present administration in the State to the ideals of the justice sector reforms through prison decongestion.         Today Prince Harry was appointed Captain General Royal Marines, succeeding the role from The Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen was pleased to give her formal approval to the appointment today as The Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by Prince Harry, carried out his last official duty as Captain General. Their Royal Highnesses received Major General Robert Magowan, Commandant General Royal Marines, and Major General Charles Stickland, Commandant General Royal Marines Designate at Buc kingham Palace. The Duke's association with the  Royal Marines  dates back 64 years to 2 June 1953, when he was appointed Captain General in succession to The Queen's father, King George VI.

      A yet to be identified woman, has according to new photos shared online, delivered a baby while selling her herbal drinks, this morning, in front of Atlantic plaza, Nkpor, Anambra State. EFCC ARRESTED INNOCENT CHUKWUMA,THE OWNER OF INNOSON MOTORS TODAY AT ENUGU.{PHOTOS}

      A well known industrialist Chief Innocent Chukwuma popularly known by his company's name, INNOSON, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC . He was picked up at about 11am at his Savage Crescent , GRA Enugu residence today Tuesday December 19, 2017. His arrest followed hisrefusal to honour invitation by the Commission having earlier jumped an administrative bail granted him in a case being invest igated by the Capital Market and Insurance Fraud Unit of the Commission's Lagos office.Chukwuma rather than honoring invitation by the EFCC, mobilized six truck loads of thugs pretending to be staff of his company to his residence, where they manhandled EFCC operatives.  It took reinforcement from the Enugu office of the EFCC to effect the arrest of the industrialist who is currently being grilled by a team of investigators.More photos below.

        It was another dark day in Onitsha, Anambra State on saturday, as fire gutted the bridge head market of the Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Products Dealers Onitsha AMPPDO. In the process, goods worth over 100 million naira were destroyed. The fire incident was said to have started at about 6am, at the Redemption Line of the market. A source said it would have gutted the whole market, but for the timely intervention of the men of Fire Service from Onitsha Main market and Building Materials Market, Ogidi, invited by the leadership of the market. When Anambra State Online visited the market yesterday after the incident about 12 noon, members of the executive of AMPPDO were still ruminating over the incident. Also, the affected shop owners were clearing their shops of the rubbles left by the fire incident.
