 FG Reaffirms Commitment To Operationalize Sokoto Hajj Airport Ahead Of 2026 Pilgrimage The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development announced that the Sokoto State Hajj Airport is set to become operational ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. The Minister of Aviation and Eerospace Festus Keyamo reaffirmed this commitment during a meeting with Sokoto State Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu. Keyamo highlighted Sokoto's importance for Hajj operations and assured that relevant agencies are working to meet necessary infrastructure and operational requirements. He directed officials to identify and address potential bottlenecks. Governor Aliyu says the airport project is 90% completed and funded by the state government with five aircraft being acquired. He appealed for expedited approvals to operationalize the airport for the 2026 Hajj. The Ministry remains committed to enhancing aviation infrastructure under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. One more photo below...

LAWYER DIES AFTER BEING TRAPPED IN ABUJA HOTEL LIFT. (PHOTO).

 Lawyer dies after being trapped in Abuja hotel lift  lawyer, Barrister Abdulsalami Ginsau, has reportedly d!ed after being trapped inside an elevator at a hotel in Abuja. An eyewitness account said the incident occurred on Monday, March 30, 2026.  The report indicated that the deceased was stuck in the lift for a prolonged period, leading to his d3ath, suspected to be from suffocation. However, the exact cause of the incident has not been officially confirmed. It’s is unclear whether it was due to a power outage or a mechanical fault in the elevator. Authorities and the management of the hotel involved have issued an official statement at the time of filing this report. The identity of the hotel has also not been disclosed.  Meanwhile friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn him.

44-YEAR OLD MAN, AKINOLA OBISESAN, FOR THEFT INSIDE A COMMERCIAL BUS. THE SUSPECT, WHO WAS. (VIDEO/PHOTO).

During a routine traffic enforcement exercise yesterday, operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce apprehended a 44-year old man, Akinola Obisesan, for theft inside a commercial bus. The suspect, who was seated beside a female passenger, Afolabi Kafayat, discreetly brought out a blade, cut open her handbag, and removed her phone without her knowledge. The victim, however, noticed suspicious movements and promptly raised an alarm, leading to the swift intervention and arrest of the suspect by Taskforce officials on duty. Obisesan later confessed to the crime and was immediately charged to court, where he pleaded guilty. He has since been remanded in custody at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility. Watch video below.

 Yusuf Tuggar Resigns As Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has stepped down as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. In his resignation letter, he thanked President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and praised the administration’s "4D Foreign Policy Strategy." He also expressed appreciation to the ministry’s staff and the diplomatic community for their support during his tenure. His leadership focused on people-centred diplomacy, diaspora engagement, and strengthening bilateral and regional ties, including security cooperation and economic diplomacy to boost foreign investment. Tuggar submitted his resignation ahead of the March 31 deadline for political appointees.

A MISSISSIPPI WOMAN WHO WAS FOUND IN A DITCH SUFFERING FROM A DOG ATTACK HAS SADLY, PASSED AWAY. (PHOTO).

 She never stopped fighting. A Mississippi woman who was found in a ditch suffering from a dog attack has sadly, passed away.  35-year-old LaKesha Newsom was walking along Highway 178 in Holly Spring, Mississippi, on March 3rd, when  she was attacked by dogs. LaKesha was discovered a short time after the attack and airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee, where she spent the next three weeks fighting for her life.  LaKesha ultimately had an arm and leg amputated due to the severity of her injuries. However, even these drastic measures weren't enough to save her life as she passed away on Friday, March 27th.   Her family questions some of the injuries, such as two black eyes; thinking there must be more to the story. They also wonder why the dogs responsible have not been put down.  PALM SUNDAY TRAGEDY, GUNMEN KILL OVER 20 IN JOS COMMUNITY  Not fewer than 20 persons have been confirmed dead, while several others sustained injuries following a deadly attack by suspected gunmen in Gari Ya Waye, Angwan Rukuba area of Jos, Plateau State. The incident occurred on Sunday night, March 29, 2026, coinciding with Palm Sunday celebrations observed by Christians worldwide. Residents said the attack began at about 7:50 p.m., catching the community off guard. Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen stormed the area and opened fire indiscriminately, triggering chaos and forcing residents to flee for safety. Several injured victims were said to have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, while families continued to search for missing relatives in the aftermath of the violence.  POLICE ARREST 14 MORE  SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON OFFICERS IN ERIN-OSUN, ILOBU The Osun State Police Command has arrested 14 additional suspects in connection with the recent attack on police officers in Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities, as investigations into the incident intensify. An update issued by the Command's spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi,  disclosed that the 14  suspects were apprehended through intelligence-led operations, bringing the total number of arrests to 18. According to the statement, the suspects had gone into hiding after the attack but were tracked and arrested by operatives under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan. The Command also confirmed the recovery of weapons linked to the incident, including a single-barrel gun, a live cartridge, and a cutlass.  EFCC Arrests Company Rep Over Alleged N993m Fraud in Ilorin The Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC has arrested a company representative, Kofoworola Motunrayo Kolawole, over an alleged fraud to the tune of N993,247,796.70 (Nine Hundred and Ninety-Three Million, Two Hundred and Forty-Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Six Naira, Seventy Kobo). The arrest of Kolawole, 37, was sequel to a petition submitted to the Commission by Predictus Remit Limited, a subsidiary of Fairmoney Microfinance Bank. The petitioner alleged that Kolawole, alongside the company directors - Duru Ogadima, Talukder Muhammed Khalidur Rahman (both currently at large) and their firm, DKK Partners Limited, fraudulently obtained the said sum under the pretext of facilitating a foreign exchange transaction.   Ugandan Officer Jailed for 6 Months for Breach of Promise to Marry After Failing to Refund Her Fiancé Fortunate Kyarikunda, a law enforcement officer with Rubanda Town Council, has been committed to Rukungiri Government Prison (civil wing) for up to six months. The order was issued by Grade One Magistrate Dinah (Diana) Nekesa after she failed to pay Shs 14,099,100 owed to Richard Tumwine. The debt follows a 2023 Kanungu Magistrate’s Court judgment for breach of promise to marry.   Tumwine had sponsored her education, including a diploma at the Law Development Centre, spending about Shs 9.4 million. The court ordered a refund plus Shs 1 million damages, with the total rising to Shs 14,099,100 after costs. She was arrested while on duty and jailed for non-payment. Because this is civil enforcement of a debt, not a criminal conviction, she will be released once the full amount is paid or after serving the 6-month term.

James Tolkan, Back to the Future and Top Gun actor, dies at 94 James Tolkan, the veteran actor famed for his role as the strict school vice principal Gerald Strickland in the Back to the Future series, has died at the age of 94. Tolkan passed away on Thursday in Saranac Lake, New York. A spokesperson confirmed his death on Friday, though no cause was immediately reported. He became widely recognized for portraying the stern principal who calls Marty McFly and his father “slackers,” a role he reprised throughout the trilogy, including portraying Strickland’s ancestors in the third film. In addition to Back to the Future, Tolkan appeared as naval commander Stinger in the 1980s blockbuster Top Gun. TWO STUDENTS KILLED, SEVEN INJURED IN SCHOOL BUS CRASH IN WEST TENNESSEE . (PHOTO).

 Two students killed, seven injured in school bus crash in west Tennessee   Two students were killed and at least seven others injured Friday when a school bus collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck on Highway 70 in Carroll County, west Tennessee. Officials said the dump truck did not appear to have contributed to the crash. The bus, carrying 25 students and five adults from Kenwood Middle School in Clarksville, was on a field trip to Jackson, Tennessee. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Maj. Travis Plotzer of the Tennessee Highway Patrol described the incident as “a parent's worst nightmare.” Four victims were airlifted to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Nashville and were reported in stable condition, while 19 others were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County for evaluation and released. The full extent of injuries among those involved has not been confirmed.

 Tiger Woods Mugshot Released After Rollover Crash in Florida Leads to DUI  ChargeTiger Woods is facing a DUI-related charge after a rollover crash in Martin County, Florida, on Friday afternoon, authorities have confirmed. According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened shortly after 1 p.m. near Jupiter Island.  The golf icon was later taken into custody, booked, and subsequently released after posting bond. He is facing charges of driving under the influence with property damage and refusing to comply with a lawful test. Speaking at a press briefing later in the day, Sheriff John M. Budensiek said Woods did not appear to have suffered any injuries at the scene.
