  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. A 6 STOREY BUILDING COLLAPSED IN KENYA YESTERDAY,KILLING 12 PEOPLE & 134 INJURED.{PHOTOS}.

                                                                  Rescue efforts are still on going at Huruma in Kenya's capital Nairobi,after the collapse of a six storey residential building.At least 120 people have been pulled out from the rubble and at least 12 people have been confirmed dead.As the hours passed following yesterday friday building collapse,rescuers continued to hear sounds of hope.Voices off some trapped survivors called out from beneath the debris,terrified but still alive.The building housed about 164 one room apartments and 134 were injured,but it is still not clear how many people occupied the building at the time of the collapse.More photos below.                                                                                                                           

INDIA BANS DAY-LIGHT COOKING,AFTER MORE THAN 300 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES BECAUSE OF HEAT WAVES

                     According to sources,heat waves in India claimed more than 300 lives this month of April,and Indian officials have forbidden day time cooking in some areas to prevent fires that have killed nearly 80 others.The eastern state of Bihar banned cooking between 9 am and 6 pm,after accidental fires exacerbated by dry,hot and windy weather swept through shanty-towns and thatched-roof houses and killed 79 people.People are also barred from burning spent crops or holding fire ,rituals as part of Hindu religious practice.Disaster management official Vyas,who goes by one name,saif Friday ythat anyone who violates the orders could face up to a year in jail.Sources said further that more than 300 people have died of heat related illness this month of April 2016,as more than 330 million struggle with severe drought.Mor photos below.                                                                           

IGP ORDERS THE ARREST,PROSECUTION OF PERSONS HOARDING & DIVERTING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS,YESTERDAY.

                      In a new press release yesterday April 29,2016,the IGP said,further to the Nigeria Police Force directives on the activities of unscrupulous elements who engage in illegal sale of petroleum products,there is need to make some clarification that the directive was specifically targeted at those who are involved in hoarding and diverting the petroleum products.However,those with genuine intention to use the products for their legal and genuine business are allowed to purchase the products.The IGP emphasized that no stone will be left unturned by the Police to checkmate those with the attitude of causing discomfort to the innocent citizens in the country.-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.More photos below.                             

NIGERIAN ARMY DEBUNK ONLINE REPORT,THAT SAID ''THEY ARE PLANNING TO STEAL BODIES FROM A MASS GRAVE IN ZARIA''.

                                                          The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to an online report by SAHARA REPORTERS ON 28 April 2016 in which the Islamic Movement in Nigeria alleged that the Nigerian Army is planning to steal bodies from mass grave in Zaria.It further stressed that a contingent of soldiers have been deployed to keep guard at the site of the mass grave in an effort to prevent the uncovering of the hundrends of bodies buried there.It is simply a figment of their jaundiced imagination and a campaign of calumny.The Army strongly and categorically reject the IMN's unfounded n spurious allegation.It is simply a concoction of lies and deliberate effort by the IMN to portary the Nigerian Army's image negatively.The Nigerian Army will like to make it abundantly clear that,it has never contemplated such act at anytime.It's of no relevance whatsoever.We are focused on discharging our constitutional duty as a professional military force.

                        Jermaine Jackson,co-lead singer of global music brand,Jackson 5 and elder brother of late king of pop Michael Jackson yesterday friday confirmed readiness to participate at the star studded jazz concert being put together by the Lagos State Government in commemoration of the 2016 International Jazz Day.The concert,which is to be hosted by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode,will hold at the Lagos House in Alausa,Ikeja today saturday April 30 by 5pm.Jermaine,who confirmed his readiness to participate at the festival during a press conference held at the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy,Alausa,said he would be at the festival to support the government and array of international and local artist who would be performing.Jermaine,who is in Nigeria as part of activities marking the Jackson Golden Africa Tour,also disclosed plans by the Jackson 5 to establish a music academy in Nigeria to nurture and prepare the talents in Africa for global market.He said '&#
