EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

The current regime of Kim Jong Un has ordered an 11-day mourning to honor former North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il ruled from 1994 to December 17, 2011. His son Kim Jong Un then continued to rule, ordering the public not to show any signs of happiness for 11 days in memory of their father, the Daily Mile reported. During this national mourning, North Korean citizens are not allowed to drink alcohol. Not even allowed to laugh. Also, Khadak has been ordered that citizens should not engage in recreational activities. A citizen of the northeastern border city of Sinuizu responded by saying, “During mourning, we should not drink alcohol, laugh or engage in leisure activities.” December 17 means North Koreans are not even allowed to shop for groceries today. NDLEA PARTNERS NA IN TACKLING DRUG ABUSE, TRAFFICKING The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa(rtd) has called for a robust partnership between the Nigerian Army(NA) and NDLEA in curbing the menace  of substance abuse and trafficking in Nigeria. EFCC Arrests Ibadan Socialite for Alleged N25m Fraud Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested one Ajayi Oluwabukola Temitope, for allegedly obtaining money to the tune of N24,955,000.00 (Twenty Four Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Five Thousand Naira) by false pretence. The 42-year-old Ibadan socialite was arrested following a series of petitions  in which the suspect who claims to be a registered dealer with soft drinks manufacturers in Ibadan, Oyo state promised to supply products to complaints but failed after collecting money from them.

KDSG Security Update: Friday 17th December 2021.  Nine killed, two injured in separate attacks across Chikun, Zaria, and Zangon Kataf LGAs The military and police authorities have reported to the Kaduna State Government that nine people have been killed, and two others injured, in various attacks occurring in Chikun, Zangon Kataf and Zaria local government areas.  According to the reports, three people were killed when bandits barricaded the Buruku-Udawa section of the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road in Chikun LGA. The victims were identified as: - Umma Ibro Kontagora  - Abdullahi Noma Kontagora  - One male adult, yet to be identified One person, identified as Jamilu Kafinta Udawa, sustained gunshot injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.  In the Yola-Kadi general area also of Chikun LGA, bandits killed one Danjuma Maiungwa and left another resident injured.  Furthermore, bandits killed two people in Sako village, Zangon Kataf LGA.  2023 General Elections May Not Hold - Jega The former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega, has warned that the 2023 general elections may not hold. Jega gave this warning while lamenting the state of insecurity in Nigeria, adding that election may not hold if insecurity is not tackled. The former INEC Chairman stated this at an event in honour of the late former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, in Ibadan on Thursday. Jega further stated that adequate security across the country is key to an acceptable electoral process. He said, “Unless elections are conducted in an environment that is peaceful and secure, its integrity and even the legitimacy of the outcome of that election will be questioned. “As we look forward to the 2023 general elections, there is increasing apprehension that the pervasive insecurity situation in the country may present a formidable obstacle if not an obstruction to that election.
