The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.         The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released Nnewi, Anambra-State born Industrialist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma on bail. The business man who runs a local auto assembly plant was arrested on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at his Enugu residence, following his refusal to respond to invitations by the Commission, after initially being granted administrative bail by the Commission, while his surety could also not be found. Unfortunately the in dustrialist resisted arrest and stirred controversy by bringing six truck-loads of thugs to block the entrance to his Plot W1, Industrial Layout, Abakaliki Road, Emeni, Enugu, home.      Again, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to alert members of the public about the activities of some persons who have been dropping the name of its Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, and extorting unsuspecting members of the public. Members of the syndicate have been parading themselves as either close friends or members of the Magu family. They have been defrauding unsuspecting members of the public on the prete xt that they were acting on behalf of the acting chairman. This is in spite of repeated warnings by the Commission, that the acting chairman has not mandated anybody to solicit for bribes on his behalf. The EFCC for the umpteenth time wishes to reiterate its warning to members of the public to refrain from dealing with fraudsters with claims that they have influence to secure soft landing for suspects in matters before the Commission. NEMSA EMBARKS ON A NATIONWIDE TECHNICAL MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF PRIMARY 33KV FEEDER LINES WITH ASSOCIATED 33/11KV INJECTION SUBSTATIONS.{PHOTOS}#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) has commenced a Nationwide Technical Monitoring and Evaluation of the primary 33KV feeder lines and associated 33/11KV injection substations with supply source from 330/132/33KV transmission substations. The exigency of the exercise is to identify constraints militating against quick realization of the Federal Government’s policy and efforts for sustainability of the incremental, steady and uninterrupted power supply as they are achieved through the 33KV primary feeder lines to the 33/11KV injection substations and subsequently through the 11KV feeder lines and associated distribution transformers and finally to the consumers. Also this is to identify the high risk and technical loss points along the 33KV feeder lines. According to newsmen report, students that came top in their classes were given the unusual gift never received by students in the history of Nigeria education system. Commenting on the goat gifts on social media, newsmen gathered that the need to celebrate the forthcoming Christmas by the students could be the rationale behind the gifts by the school.           The attention of the Headquarters 707 Special Forces (SF) Brigade, Makurdi, has been drawn to media reports alleging that soldiers have invaded communities and burnt down houses in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area (LGA), of Benue State. This is not true, as none of our troops was involved in any unlawful act of invading any community. Therefore such stories should be dismissed as false and untrue. For the avoidance of doubt, there was an incidence of reported armed robbery at Agirigi Community in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State on Monday 18th December 2017, where a discharged soldier travelling from Lagos to Katsina-Ala ran into unidentified suspected gunmen that fired at his vehicle and was killed him.         In continuation of Operation DEEP PUNCH 2, designed to smoke out Boko Haram terrorists inhabiting remote islands in Lake Chad basin lying within Nigerian territory, troops of 8 Division, Nigerian Army, on Operation LAFIYA DOLE, supported by soldiers of the Armed Forces Strike Group have inflicted heavy casualty on Boko Haram terrorists. The operation which commenced about 2 w eeks ago was proceeded by coordinated air and artillery bombardment of islands and localities occupied by terrorists, and from where they sneak into Magumeri, Kauram and other locations to loot property and attack security personnel and villagers. So far, 20 terrorists have been killed, captured 17 others, while over 100 elderly men, women and children have been rescued. GT BANK IS USING EFCC TO INTIMIDATE,FIGHT ME-INNOCENT CHUKWUMA.{PHOTO}

          Chief Innocent Chukwuma, CEO of Innoson group of companies has opened up on his arrest by the Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC on Tuesday morning. Innocent says that the EFFC is being used by Guaranty trust bank(GT bank) to intimidate him. In a statement to Vanguard from his detention room in the Enugu branch of the commission, he revealed that the Bank owed him an undisclosed sum of money which a court had ruled in his favour. He said, “But instead of the Bank to pay me my money, they are using EFCC to intimidate me,”. he promised to give full details to the public on his encounter with the anti-graft agency. However, a representative of the EFCC, Mr. Chris Oluka, told newsmen that Innocent Chukwuma put up resistance to arrest. “He did put up some resistance by using some trucks to block our way to his residence but we finally arrested him,”. It was learnt that Chief Innocent Chukwuma will soon be transferred to the Lagos office of the commission
