Two arrested for alleged manufacturing of fake drinks in Lagos Police operatives attached to Ojo Division area of Lagos State on Wednesday, December 20, arrested one Imo Lawrence and his ally, Magnus Nwonka, allegedly involved in manufacturing fake drinks in the state. The Nation learnt that Lawrence aged 35 and Nwonka aged 42 were in possession of fake drinks. The singer said she has two pending shows but isn’t feeling well enough. On her Instagram page, Savage wrote: “God help me, have two shows today and I feel soo sick.” In another post, the mother of one said she needs “tender loving care.” She wrote, “Who loves me enough to send me cheesecake ice cream? Florida man arrested for throwing a dog in the dumpster after it's owner died. 55-year-old, Anthony Bellman, has been arrested for aggravated animal cruelty after throwing his neighbor's 16-year-old Shih Tzu in the dumpster behind a Family Dollar store. On December 14th, Family Dollar workers were shocked and a little afraid when they noticed a moving trash bag in the dumpster. Once they recovered the bag they discovered a little Shih Tzu with a rope around her neck.  This poor little pup's name is Xyla and employees of Family Dollar wasted no time rushing Xyla to a local animal hospital and sharing her heartbreaking story.  Staff at the animal hospital were appalled and immediately informed police of the situation. 5 children tragically die in house fire while dad was Christmas shopping. This tragedy occurred in Bullhead Arizona on Saturday evening. First responders were called to a 2 story duplex in the 400 block of Anna Circle around 5 p.m. to a truly horrible call. What is even more heartbreaking is all 5 were the grandchildren of a local firefighter. Crews arrived on scene only 4 minutes after the fire call went out and even before they arrived, neighbors had attempted multiple rescues, including a 2 story extension ladder however all attempts sadly were not successful. Five children sadly perished. A 13, 11, 5, 4 and 2-year-old were all trapped upstairs after a fire started in the downstairs foyer blocking them from exiting. Four of the children were siblings with the 5th being a relative who was with the children while the father was shopping for Christmas presents. This is such a terrible tragedy. Our prayers are with the father and all of the family of these 5 poor souls lost this holiday

Former Rwandan doctor Sosthene Munyemana has been jailed for 24 years by a French court for his involvement in the 1994 genocide of Tutsis. The 68-year-old former gynaecologist was on Wednesday found guilty of genocide, crimes against humanity and participation in a conspiracy to prepare these crimes. His lawyers said they planned to appeal the verdict. The public prosecutor had sought a sentence of 30 years, arguing that the “sum total” of his choices showed “the traits of a genocidaire”. Munyemana was accused of helping draft a letter of support for the then interim government, which encouraged the massacre of the Tutsi minority. He was also accused of helping set up roadblocks to round people up and keeping them in inhumane conditions in local government offices before they were killed in the southern Rwandan prefecture of Butare, where he lived at the time.

Brake failure: Trailer kills motorcyclist in Anambra A trailer with faulty brake has reportedly killed a commercial motorcyclist at Amaokpala Village, along Umunze-Ekwulobia Road, Anambra State. The State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Wednesday in Awka. Irelewuyi said the accident was as a result of brake failure. “The accident involved a commercial Mercedes Benz tipper, a commercial Mack Trailer, and the motorcycle. “Four male adults were involved in the crash, while one of them, the motorcyclist, was killed. “His body was taken to the morgue at Ajalli General Hospital in Ajalli by FRSC rescue team,” he said. While sympathizing with the family of the deceased, the sector commander advised motorists to ensure regular servicing of their vehicles before plying the road.

Godfrey Gasana, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Air Force, was among those promoted to brigadier-general. Eighty-three lieutenant colonels were promoted to the rank of colonel in June, while those elevated to lieutenant colonel from major were 98. Two hundred and ninety-five captains were promoted to the rank of major.
