 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. PDP CAMPAIGN DG IN GOMBE,DEFECTS TO APC.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign organisation in Gombe State has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Alhaji Bala Bello Tinka (alias Tinka Point) met with President Muhammadu Buhari at State House, Abuja, on Thursday night, where he pledged allegiance to the APC, and also vowed to bring his political weight to bear on the election of the President for a second term in office. Coming exactly a fortnight to the presidential election, the defection of Alhaji Tinka deals a massive blow to the PDP in Gombe. PDP currently governs the state, and has done so since 2003. President Muhammadu Buhari campaigns in Gombe Saturday, and Alhaji Tinka is expected to formally join the APC, alongside others, during the event. 19 INTERNET FRAUDSTERS ARRESTED IN IBADAN TODAY WITH THEIR CHARMS BY THE EFCC.{PHOTOS}.

        Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office have arrested 19 suspected internet fraudsters at Ologuneru Area of the metropolitan city of Ibadan and at Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State. They are, Bamidele Ayodele Samson, Bamidele Philip, Tunji Oladapo Sowale, Bololaji Olalekan and Abdulrauf Abiodun. Others are: Olaleye Pelumi, Anuokuwapo Olanrewaju, Paul Damilola, Olateye David Tobi, Arewa Adekunle Ibrahim, Oyesanmi Ayomikun Oluwaseun, Olaleye Israel, Adediran Kemisola, Omobolade Alarape and Olowolusi Oluwatomisin. The four other suspects arrested early hours of Friday, February 1, 2019 at their hideout at Akobo, Ibadan are, Babatunde Afeez, Akorede Ahmed Olalekan, Adeleye Damilola and Moshod Richard. In a sting operation led by the zonal head, Friday Ebelo, Ibadan zonal head, the suspects who are between the ages of 21 and 35 years were taken by surprise when operatives swept on them at one of their notorious havens in the city.        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured an interim forfeiture of the sum of N1,000,494,000 (One Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety Four Thousand Naira) only lodged in three deposits with Fidelity Bank Plc on 20th and 25th May, 2015. The forfeiture order by Federal High Court sitting in Kano and presided over by Justice A. Lewis-Allagoa is consequent upon a motion ex parte filed by the Commiss ion seeking for the interim forfeiture of the money, which was found in the Bank account of Magel Resort Limited, a company linked to the former First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan. The Commission had gotten an intel that a bank account domiciled in Fidelity Bank, had a huge sum of money that was not being used by anybody.      Towards the success of the forthcoming 2019 general elections, the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmoud Yakubu today addressed the Commanding Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) with plea for collaboration. Speaking as a guest speaker at the FRSC Commanding Officers' Strategy Session held at the FRSC National Headquarters Abuja, Professor Yakubu explained the safety and security challenges of the elections, saying security agencies must collaborate with INEC in order to secure lives and property of the voters and voting materials to ensure the credibility of the process. According to a statement issued by the FRSC spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, INEC Chairman commended the FRSC for its consistent support to the Commission, which led to the successes recorded in the past elections.
