 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.                                One of my reporter Chinenye Genevieve is reporting how a mother took to her social media to thank God after two {2} dogs attacked her son three {3} years ago.Read the mail Chinenye sent she wrote '' Who said there is no God, Indeed there is God, for he said I will have mercy on whom I will have on and he had mercy on me. On 25th of September 2014 my son was beaten by two Rottweiler, and everyone thought the boy would not live, but that was when God took charge and gave that boy life in abundance. Today is his three years survival of the incident so join me to celebrate God for his life, I thank you Lord for your kindness towards my family. OBASEKI TO PARTNER FG ON BENIN AIRPORT EXPANSION.{PHOTOS}.

        To expand and upgrade the Benin Airport for efficient service delivery and increase passenger traffic, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) have expressed readiness to partner with the Edo State government to improve the facilities and safety at the airport. The Managing Director of FAAN, Engr. Saleh Dunoma and Managing Director of NAMA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu and the Edo State governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki decided to strengthen partnership to refurbish the airport after the trio inspected facilities at the Benin Airport on Wednesday. Governor Obaseki said his administration would work with FAAN and NAMA to develop a plan before the end of the year to ensure that the Airport space was expanded. They made the resolution in Ado-Ekiti during a luncheon by stakeholders to celebrate the state coming first in the National Examinations Council (NECO) exams for two consecutive years.       The EFCC today, September 27th, 2017 arraigned four suspected fraudsters Sani Abubakar, Abubakar Abdullahi, Mainasara Kallamu and Abdulrazaq Abdullahi before Justice Ibrahim Kangiwa of the Kebbi State High Court on eight count charge of conspiracy , forgery obtaining by false pretence and issuance of dude cheque.   The accused persons allegedly conspired together and diverted N32,000,000 (Thirty Two Million Naira Only) being balance of the eight hundred units of motorcycles worth N72,000,000 (Seventy Two Million Naira) belonging to the complainant, one Ibrahim Iron by falsely claiming that the motorcycles were meant for the Nigerian Union of Teachers.

   According to CNN, Women in Saudi Arabia have been celebrating the news that they will finally be able to drive, a landmark step that brings the conservative kingdom in line with the rest of the world and will allow many more women to work. The Saudi Foreign ministry  announced Tuesday that a royal decree has been issued   that will allow women to drive by next June. "This is a historic big day in our kingdom," Prince Khaled bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the US, said Tuesday in a briefing with reporters. The move follows years of activism and appeals both from within and outside the Gulf nation. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT: LAGOS SPEAKER EXPRESSES RESERVATION OVER NO-GO AREAS FOR STATE ASSEMBLIES.{PHOTO}.

      The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa on Monday expressed reservation on the ongoing 1999 constitution amendments by the National Assembly, saying failure to include devolution of powers on the areas to be discussed by state assemblies would render the exercise as worthless. Obasa made the remarks while reacting during plenary to a report presen ted by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Wasiu Sanni-Eshinlokun over the just concluded Conference of Speakers' Forum in Yola, Adamawa State. The Speaker also debunked the rumour that the conference of speakers had adopted local government autonomy as part of the proposed amendments of the constitution. The Vice Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria and Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Ubosi, was reported to have said that the Conference of Speakers had resolved to support the autonomy for Local Governments and State Assemblies.

SENATE PASSED THE SECOND READING OF THE BILL TO AMEND THE FIRE ARMS ACT TODAY.{PHOTO}.

        Today, the 8th Senate passed the Second Reading of the Bill to amend the Fire Arms Act to provide for the increase of fines and the destruction of all firearms that are illegally imported into the country or that are in the possession of individuals that do not have valid licenses. With the recent reports of the Nigerian Customs Service finding 4 illegal shipments of firearms in the last few weeks, this Bill is pertinent, because with its eventual passage, we will be strength ening the existing Fire Arms Act and making our nation safer. Apart from the fines and other punitive measures that are imposed on individuals, we will also be looking at the laws that are currently in place to ensure that shipping agents and other companies that are involved in the importation of illegal firearms into the nation are held liable. Now that the Bill has been sent to the Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters for further work, we will be having a public hearing on this Bill, to

EFCC ARRESTED FOUR SUSPECTED FRAUDSTERS IN BENIN.{PHOTOS}.

       The Benin Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested four persons Michael Agun, Osaikuiwomwan Monday, Vincent Odia and Chibuike Ogbonna suspected of obtaining money under false pretence. The suspects were arrested on September 25, 2017 in Benin City sequel to a petition by a complainant alleging that sometimes in May 2017 he got a call from one Chris Amadi who claimed that he knew him during his  National Youth Service year. According to the petitioner, Amadi informed him that he worked at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Edo State before being transferred to Minna ,Niger State and that while he was in Edo State, he transacted businesses with one Alhaji whom he supplied cow medicine (Cow Bruma).Amadi told him that he would like to connect him with Alhaji for good business but asked him to call David Adeboye whom he claimed was the manager of the company that produces cow medicine. The petitioner further alleged that upon calling Adeboy
