 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

TAJUDEEN DISU,LEKKI FREE TRADE ZONE BOSS,BURIED TODAY IN IKOYI LAGOS.

                                             Today wednesday Mr Tajudeen Disu,the Managing Director of the Lekki Free Trade Zone,LFTZ Limited,was buried at the Vault and Garden in Ikoyi,Lagos.According to sources,as Mr Disu's body was being lowered to the ground,family members,relatives and friends wept bitterly as they paid their last respects to the departed.Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was represented in the Burial by his deputy,Dr Idiat Adebule,Secretary to the State Government,SSG,Mr Tunji Bello,former deputy governors of Lagos State,Mr Femi Pedro and Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu etc.At the reception after the burial ceremony held at the Lagos Citty Hall,Dr Zikrulahi Adenugba,lecturer from Al-Hikma University,who delivered the ser mon said Disu died as a martyr,while he urged the Lagos State Government to keep the legacy he laboured for before his death.He said government should support the family in whatever they intended to do and ensured that they were well catered for.The son of the

U.S TROOPS ARRIVED IN CAMEROON,TO HELP IN DEFENSE AGAINST BOKO HARAM.

                 According Reuter,the United States is sending 300 U.S troops along with surveillance drones,to Cameroon to bolster a West African effort to counter the Nigerian militants Islamist group Boko Haram.In a notification to Congress,President Barack Obama said an advance force of about 90 military personnel began deploying on monday to Cameroon,with the consent of the Yaounde government.The troops will conduct airborne intelligence,surveillance and reconnaissance operations in the region Obama said.''These forces are equipped with weapons for the purpose of providing their own force protection and security,and they will remain in Cameroon until their support is no longer needed''.One more photo below.

LAMAR ODOM MAY SUFFER FROM BRAIN DAMAGE,AFTER HE OVER-DOSED YESTERDAY IN LAS VEGAS.

                  Yesterday tuesday,it was reported that Lamar Odom collapsed at a Nevada brothel.He was admitted at the Sunrise hospital in Las Vegas though the Doctors are currently treating Lama's case as a non suicidal drug overdose,but according to a hospital source who spoke with E! News said that ''Doctors found virtually every drug imaginable in the 35 year old's system,and he may have suffered a stroke and now faces brain damage''.The Kardashian clan rushed to his bed side including his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian.Their mother Kris Jenner was pictured looking very worried outside the Sunrise hospital in Las Vegas early today wednesday morning.Another source claimed that his collapse may have been sparked by the reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians especially sunday episode.More photos below.

SENATE CONFIRMS FASHOLA & OTHERS AS MINISTERS+ONE NOMINEE WITHDRAWN TODAY BY BUHARI.

                            Today wednesday 14th of October 2015,the Nigerian Senate has formerly confirmed the nominations Ex-Governor Babatunde Fashion,Lai Mohammed who is the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress {APC} and 17 others as ministers.The Senate gave the approval today wednesday after screening the nominees.Out of the 21 names that was sent to the Senate by the President of Nigeria,only 19 were confirmed but the remaining two {Rotimi Amaechi and Commissioner Adebayo Shittu},would be screened tomorrow thursday.President Muhammadu Buhari also withdraw the name of one of ministerial nominee Ahmed Isa Ibeto,who is representing Niger State.Saraki said the withdrawal was contained in a letter President Buhari sent the senate.No reason was given for the withdrawal of Ibeto who is currently the deputy governor of Niger state.More photos below.

                  Today wednesday,the Senate deferred the Screening of  ex Governor Rotimi Amaechi because of the inability of its Committee on Ethics,Privileges and Public Petitions to submit its report on the petition against him.The Chairman of the Committee Sen.Sam Anyanwu,while briefing the senate,said that the committee could not meet on tuesday folloing the late adjournment of plenary.Anyawu said that as at the time of adjournment of plenary,most of the members of the committee were too tired to meet.He promised that the committee would meet on wednesday so as to finalise the report on Amaechi and submit on thursday to enable his screening.Another source said that Amaechi's nomination is being opposed by ''Integrity Group'',which petitioned the Senate alleging that Amaechi had not answwered questions on alleged financial misappropriation when he was governor of River state.Although the Committee met on monday,they could not deliberate on the petion as the all

NIGERIAN CUSTOMS,SEIZED 112 CARTONS OF FROZEN CHICKEN IN KATSINA.

                       Over 112 cartons of contaminated poultry products {Frozen chicken}seized by the Nigerian Customs Service {NCS},which was smuggled into the country through Katsina border.Briefing journalists today wednesday in the Katsina,the Area Controller,Kaduna/Katsina Command,Alhaji Gidado Bala,said that the smugglers were intercepted at Dankama in Kaita Local Government Area.Bala said that the smugglers on sighting the customs patrol team abandoned their goods and took to their heels.He said that the frozen poultry products were discovered to be unsuitable for human consumption when examined.Bala said that the Federal Government banned importation of poultry products in order to protect the health of its citizens and to encourage animal husbandry and poultry farming in the country.The controller,therefore advised smugglers to desist from such illegal business or face arrest and prosecution.The seized items were handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administr
