  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. DASUKI'S COUNSEL SAID HIS CLIENT ''DASUKI'' DID NOT DESERT THE ARMY

                                 According to PM news,the Department of State Service {DSS} had filed new charges against the embattled former National Security Adviser,Sambo Dasuki,starting that he left the Nigerian Army without proper resignation.Dasuki who is currently facing corrupt dealings and diversion of $2.1 billion meant for purchase of arms for the Nigerian Armed Forces will be held by the DSS.His new ordeal was revealed by Rotimi Jacobs at the last hearing of the suit against the retired Colonel at Federal Capital Territory,FCT High Court last thursday.Jacobs had attributed the refusal of government to set the former NSA free,in spite of the bail he has been granted by three different courts to this military past.The prosecuting counsel had told the court that Dasuki was a fugitive,having ran away from the Army without proper resignation.Jacobs added that the ex-NSA is being currently held by the Department of State Service {DSS} on alleged breach of army service rule.Jacob

7 SUSPECTED ISLAMIST MILITANTS,WERE ARRESTED TODAY IN SPAIN.

                    According to Spain Ministry of Interior,who confirmed that their police arrested seven people with suspected links to Islamist militant groups today sunday in a dawn raid in the regions of Alicante and Valencia in Spain's north African enclave Ceuta.The ministry said that those arrested were suspected of operating a supply network for Islamist fighters in Syria and Iraq,sending money,guns,computer equipment and material for making explosives in sealed containers under the guise of humanitarian relief.Five of the suspects were Spaniards of Syrian,Jordanian and Moroccan descent and the remaining two were a Syrian and a Moroccan.Police searched homes,businesses and warehouses as part of the operation.Today sunday's arrest was the result of two years on investigation into the ring by authorities.The arrested people had carried out their activities in other European countries before settling in Spain.Spain arrested 102 people with suspected links to Islamist mili

FRSC IN IMO STATE,CONVICTED 35 PEOPLE OVER THE WEEKEND FOR VIOLATING TRAFFIC.

                           Over the weekend at least 35 persons were convicted for violating traffic regulations by a mobile court set up by the Federal Road Safety Corps {FRSC} in Ngor-Okpala,Imo State.The motorists,who were brought before the mobile court presided over by Magistrate Akunna Opara of the Imo State Judiciary,were convicted for driver licence violation,number plate violation,over speeding and loading,among other traffic offences.The Unit Commander,Augustine Kalu said that in line with FRSC 2016 corporate and strategic goals of reducing road traffic crashes by 15%,the command decided to prosecute traffic offenders to serve as deterrent to others.He said the corps had started the inspection of fleet operator's terminals under the Road Transport Safety Standardization Scheme {RTSSS}.One photo below.                                                                                                              

ANED,IS APPEALING TO ORGANISED LABOUR IN NIGERIA,NOT TO HOLD PROTEST TOMORROW OVER INCREASE IN ELECTRICITY TARIFF.

                     According to sources,today sunday in Kano,the Association of Nigeria Electricity Distributors ANED,appealed to NLC to shelve its planned protest over electricity tariff increase,tomorrow monday.A statement issued by the Executive Director,Research and Advocacy of the association,Sunday Oduntan,urged the unions to support the power sector operators to improve electricity supply in the country.The statement urged Nigerians to support the Federal Government and the power sector operators to ensure the sustenance of the sector.It said that Nigeria was witnessing an all time high 5,075 megawatts of electricity for the first time in the history of the nation's power sector.''This is a demonstration that the sector has the capacity to meet the country's power needs.Power is a major requirement in the drive to grow the nation's economy and improve quality of life.We believe that this is only the beginning and that we can accomplish much more improvement
