The development is coming on the heels of Tunde’s breaking of the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon in New York. While the official verdict on Tunde’s record-breaking endeavoir remains pending, the spirit he exhibited throughout the marathon has already won him admiration and acclaim from far and wide. Overwhelmed by the gesture towards his parents, Onakoya took to his X handle to pour out his heartfelt gratitude on Friday. Oyo Rep denies inflating road project contract from N9bn to N54bn The member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has denied reports that she inflated the contract sum of a road rehabilitation project in her constituency. The lawmaker was reacting to reports in the media that she connived with officials of the Federal Ministry of Works to inflate a 45 kilometre road project from N9 billion to N54 billion. The contractor handling the project, DC Engineering Limited, was quoted to have made the allegation at a public hearing organised by the House of Representatives in Abuja. Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Akande-Sadipe explained that the Olojuoro, Ijebu-Igbo, Ita Egba, Owonomwen road project in her constituency in Oyo State was awarded in 2018 with a two-year completion period, but after five years, one kilometer of the road has not been completed despite the contractor being mobilized substantially.

Wike stated this on Tuesday in Abuja at the inauguration of Mandate Secretaries for the FCT Administration. I remain loyal to Akeredolu, says deputy The Ondo State deputy governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday, reiterated his loyalty to his boss and state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu. Aiyedatiwa said some reports making the rounds in recent times about his purported disloyalty to his boss were lies and aimed at causing disaffection between him and the governor. The deputy governor stated this on Tuesday in a statement through his media aide, Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson.  TRUCK FALLS OFF OTEDOLA BRIDGE INWARD BERGER Officials of LASEMA are working to rescue and clear the road to enable free flow of traffic after a Truck fell off Otedola bridge inward Berger. The truck loaded with Wheat products skipped off the bridge while trying to avoid collision with another vehicle, spilling its content thereby blocking the road. A man believed to be one of the occupants of the truck fell off the bridge and lost his life. Watch video below.

President Tinubu Was My Classmate In Chicago State University - Durojaiye Ogunsanya Durojaiye Ogunsanya, a public affairs analyst, has reacted to allegations that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not attend Chicago State University and that he can’t point to anyone who was his classmate in the institution. Ogunsanya, in an interview with TVC News, affirmed that Tinubu attended Chicago State University and they were classmates in the school. He also said they graduated from the school in the same year 1979 and he was a good student. According to Ogunsanya, “We met in the school, Chigaco State University and we were in the same department, College of Accounting Business and Administrative with a major in Accounting and we were in the same class together and we graduated. He did attend the University and he graduated in 1979 in the same year as I did. I am here to testify that he did attend University and he was a good student”.

UN Partners Borno State NEDC, In Resettlement of Over 2 Million Displaced Persons. The United Nations has promised to strengthen partnership with Borno State government and the North East Development Commission (NEDC) towards the resettlement of over two million displaced persons.  UN Assistant Secretary General and Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary General on internal displacement revealed Mr Robert Piper made the promise when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of the North East Development Commission Mohammed Alkali in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.  Mr. Piper said the purpose of the visit is to interface with the state government and NEDC on how they have handled the humanitarian crisis and as well address the challenges of IDPs in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.  He emphasized that the solution to displacement requires investment in infrastructure, healthcare facilities and investment in education.  " When we think of of the 2.2

I wasn’t sacked – Thaddeus Attah reacts as tribunal orders supplementary polls in Eti-Osa Thaddeus Attah, House of Representatives member, representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, has denied reports that he was sacked by the tribunal. Reports had said the petition tribunal in Lagos State had cancelled the House of Representatives election for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency. The report claimed that the tribunal sacked the Labour Party candidate, who was declared the winner. But reacting, Attah on his Twitter page said he was not sacked. According to him, the tribunal ordered a supplementary election in the 32 polling units where election did not hold. “No cause for alarm! I am here to clarify that I was not sacked. The Tribunal has simply ordered a re-run (supplementary election) in the 32 polling units where elections did not hold. “We will continue working for Etiosa. “I urge constituents to keep calm as we are unshaken. We will get through this together,” he said.

The pair already shared two kids and decided to keep their ‘joyous’ news away from public. Nigerian musician Mohbad passes on at 27  Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba known professionally as MohBad is dead. According to entertainment journalist, Ovie on X, the 27-year-old Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.  However, as at the time of this report, it’s unclear the cause of his d£ath.  Mohbad, before his demise was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s “Marlian records” and left the label in 2022. He’s best known for his hît singles, Ponmo, Feel Good, and KPK (Ko Por Ke) with Rexxie which was nominated three times for The Headies awards in 2022.

10 Travelers has been Kidnapped at Okene Kogi State Suspected armed men have reportedly hijacked two fully loaded buses belonging to the Benue state government-owned Benue Links Transport Company whisking away over 10 passengers from the Lagos-bound vehicles that took off from Makurdi.  It was gathered that the armed men waylaid the vehicles at about 2pm on Sunday along Ajaokuta-Okene road in Kogi state.  A source in the company who spoke on condition of anonymity in Makurdi disclosed that some of the passengers sustained injuries during the attack while some were lucky to have escaped unhurt.  He said, “It is true, the incident happened along Ajaokuta-Okene road yesterday between 2pm and 3pm when the two buses were heading to Lagos.  “Available information indicated that ten passengers were abducted during the attack. Thousands Feared Dead As Storm Daniel Sweeps Libya At least 2,000 people are feared dead in Derna, after a powerful storm and floods hit the city in eastern Libya. The Prime minister of a self-proclaimed government based in eastern Libya, Osama Hamad said that thousands were missing, but did not cite where his figures had come from. Election Tribunal Sacks Senator,Reps Member In Jos The National and State Petition Election Tribunal  has sacked the Senator representing Plateau South senatorial district, Napoleon Bali and member representing Barikin Ladi/ Riyom Federal constituency, Peter Gyendeng. The verdict which was passed at the National and State  Election Petition Tribunal  held at the State High Court on  in Jos. The court declared former governor Simon Lalong of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and Fom Dalyop of the  Labour Party (LP) who came second in the February 25 general elections as Senator and Member respectively.
