 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. Anambra State Government (ASG), Sets to Charge Sexual Offenders to Court After Rescuing Three Victims of Rape in Awka. By Chidinma Ikeanyionwu  Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Mrs Ify Obinabo has reiterated the state government's commitment towards ending rape in the state. This she stated in her office in Awka after intervening in cases of involving two victims of rape and child defilement. The victims who are 8 years, 14 years and 15 years of age were sexually taken advantage of at Ifitedunu, Agulu and Ozubulu respectively. Mrs Obinabo bemoaned such dastardly act and stated that the government of Prof Chukwuma Soludo is out to prosecute sexual offenders found guilty of rape and child defilement charges. MAN STABS MANAGER AT LOTTERY CENTRE OVER UNPAID DEBT.(PHOTO).

Man stabs manager at lottery center over unpaid debt Officers of Area K, Morogbo of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Kamalideen Raji 'm' aged 35 over the alleged murder of one person in the Badagry area of the state.  The suspect, who was arrested at about 11.30am on Tuesday, August 2, allegedly stabbed his victim, a manager of a lottery center, twice in the neck over a disagreement about unpaid debts.  The victim was rushed to Badagry General Hospital for medical attention but later gave up the ghost.    Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti for further investigations and  prosecution.

THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OF A.B.U ZARIA KONGO CAMPUS (ST. AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO CHAPEL KONGO CAMPUS) WERE YESTERDAY DENIED ACCESS INTO THE MULTI- PURPOSE HALL WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN CELEBRATING MASS FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS. The Mass was celebrated outside when a directive was received from the office of the Director instructing that the Church returns the letter of permission to worship in the wall that was issued to them 15 years ago until when a permanent site is approved for them. 15 years down the lane, no permanent site, now, the hall has been denied.  We call on the University management and the Nigerian Government to either approve the permanent site or reopen the Hall for their Worship. Right to Worship is the fundamental human right of every Nigerian. In a Federal University as ABU, such act is an uncivilized manner of treating Nigerian Citizens. Former President Goodluck Jonathan monitor Kenyan Presidential election ( Photos) The country is hoping for an orderly transition of power after almost a decade under two-term President Uhuru Kenyatta.  President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to step down after election is concluded due to term limits. The two frontrunners to succeed him are veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and the current Deputy President, William Ruto. Kenyatta fell out with Ruto and has endorsed Odinga.  All three men were involved in the 2007 election, but back then Ruto backed Odinga against Kenyatta’s then-boss. Kenyatta and Ruto faced charges at the international Criminal Court over their alleged role in the violence ; the cases were later dropped.  Here are photos of Jonathan monitoring the ongoing election below. 2023: APC Leader, Others Defect To PDP In Kwara All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Kwara State, Alhaji Bala Mahmud, and his teeming supporters in the party yesterday dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 polls in the state. Mahmud, who was a former member of the 14-member committee on Patigi/Lafiagi crisis set up by the state government, stated that he decided to dump APC for PDP with his supporters in view of the leadership skills of former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and the decision of the PDP to zone the governorship ticket of the party to Kwara North senatorial district ahead of next year polls in the state. The defectors are from Patigi town, the headquarters of Patigi LGA of the state. Again, EFCC Busts Yahoo Hideouts, Arrests 18 in Lokoja As part of efforts by the EFCC to curb the rising wave of internet related fraud otherwise known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’, the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Commission have again extended its dragnet to Kogi State leading to the arrest of 18 suspected ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Boys’ in Lokoja, the state capital. This is the second such operation in the State within the last two months.
