 TCIPC Customs, NNS Beecroft Reaffirm Commitment to National Security, Trade Facilitation The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command (TCIPC), and the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS), Beecroft, have renewed their commitment to securing Nigeria’s maritime borders and facilitating smooth trade operations.  This was highlighted during a visit on Thursday, 27 March 2025, by the newly appointed Commander of NNS Beecroft, Commodore Paul Nimmyel, to the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka at the TCIPC headquarters. While welcoming the Navy Commander, Comptroller Onyeka emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring national security does not take a backseat to trade facilitation.                 Pakistan Human Activist Malals Yousafzai said today after meeting with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan that ''Nigeria's president Goodluck Jonathan promised today monday that the missing Chibok girls kidnapped by Islamist militants would soon return home''.Malala who became a global celebrity after surviving being shot in the head by the Taliban for campaigning for girls education,was visiting Nigeria to support a international campaign for the release of the teenage students abducted in mid April by the Islamist insurgent group Boko Haram.She turned 17 on Saturday at the weekend,she met with the parents of the school girls snatched from the northeastern village of Chibok by Boko Haram fighters.

           Nadine Gordimer,a South African Author and 1991 Nobel prize winner who became one of the most powerful voices against the injustice of apartheid,has died at the age of 90.She past away peacefully at her Johanesburg home on sunday.A representative of her family said ''She cared most deeply about South Africa,its culture,its people and its on going struggle to realize its new Democracy''.May her soul rest in peace,amen.
