EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

Adamu NPM, mni , has called on all Nigerians currently in unlawful possession of such weapons to immediately ensure a voluntary return of the weapons to Police Station or Public Armoury nearest to them. 2. The Inspector General of Police has also, with immediate effect, placed an embargo on the issuance of New Licences for designated arms throughout the country. 3.       The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has described as a face-saving measure the decision by the PDP to pull the brakes on its electioneering campaign over Justice Walter Onnoghen's suspension, saying the PDP's campaign never gained traction in the first instance. Responding to reporters’ question in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Saturday, on the suspension of the PDP's campaign, the Minister said: ''Which Campaign? Their campaign was over a long time ago. There is nothing to suspend. We said it that their campaign had floundered. You can now see. What they are doing now is looking for a face-saving way out of a dead and buried campaign.''        A gang of three was recently arrested for prostitution and human trafficking in Dubai, they were arrested for falsely manipulating unsuspecting Nigerians with the promise of providing them with decent jobs in the United Arab Emirates and upon arrival of their victims, they are dispossessed of their passports and other personal belongings before forcing them into prostitution. The gang members namely Chinonso Emmanuel Onuabuchi, Ifeanyi Clement Nnamoko and Nneamaka Blessing Okafor were arrested after the Association of Enugu Indigenes (UAE) led by its chairman Mr. Kingsley C Eze was informed that an indigene of its state (Enugu) was deceived from Nigeria to Dubai by the culprits, forced and molested into prostitution. Upon receiving the information, Mr. Eze, informed the authorities and the Nigerian Embassy in Dubai of the development and the traffickers were investigated and apprehended.        The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday, 26 January 2019, honoured the 5 crew members of the Mi-35M helicopter that crashed in Damasak, Borno State on 2 January 2019 while providing close air support to troops of 145 Battalion. The 5 deceased crew members were honoured alongside, the Late Squadron Leader Mohammed Bello Baba-Ari, a fighter Instructor Pilot who died during rehearsals for aerial display for Nigeria’s 58th Independence Celebration, as well as 13 other deserving NAF personnel and civilians who had distinguished themselves in their areas of responsibilities in 2018. The humanitarian efforts of the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) were also specially recognized with an award presented to the National President of the Association, Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar.        A heavy rainfall which occurred on Thursday in Onitsha area of Anambra State has led to the untimely death of a young lady. Report has it that the deceased was swept away by the heavy rain and her corpse was later found by a rescue team . The residents are blaming the government for the bad road at Ochanja area where the incident occurred as they say it has done more harm than good to the people of Onitsha since the last 10 years. The residents are calling on the Anambra state government to come and save them from dilapidated roads.One more photo below.
