EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                                                                               Information just reaching my news desk,that Mr Justin Onuorah Abuah,Director of Information,in Nigeria's presidency,Abuja has passed on.His death was announced today by Mr Femi Adesina,special adviser on media and publicity in the presidency.President Muhammadu Buhari,As=desina said,has sent a condolence message to the bereaved family.Born on 29 January 1959,Mr Abuah,fondly called O.J,by all who knew and came in close contact with him,died 14 August in Abuja after a brief illness.May his soul rest in peace.

                                Aisha Wakil,a Nigerian lawyer declared wanted by the military on Sunday,is currently at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.Ms. Wakil is amongst three persons declared wanted by the Nigerian Army on sunday for alleged ties to Boko Haram.The three have maintained that they were not on the run and faulted the decision of the Army to declare them wanted,Ms Wakil told Premium Times she arrived at the Defence Headquarters moments ago,but was not immediately taken in for interrogation.Ms Wakil said front desk officers asked her what she wanted and she told them she was declared wanted yesterday.But the officers said they were not aware of such and she asked them to read the newspapers online.''They told me they will go and read and get back to me,'' Ms Wakil said .A few minutes later,a supervisor entered the reception to collect Ms Wskil's passport and told her he'll return 10 minutes later.The spokesman of the Nigerian Army,Sani Usman,co

EFCC JUST ARRESTED A FAKE LAWYER FOR N7M SCAM,IN PORT HARCOURT.{PHOTO}.

                                                    Operatives of the EFCC have arrested a fake lawyer,identified as Thankgod Okachi Echem in Port Harcourt,Rivers State,for defrauding his ''client'',a sum of N7,000,000.Okachi,who confessed to be a School Certificate holder,was arrested based on a petition to the EFCC by one of his ''client'': Mr Jonny Wali alleged that the fake lawyer defrauded him of the sum of N7,000,000,being part of the mony awarded him by a Rivers State High Court,sitting in Port Harcourt,as compensation in a legal battle involving him and the former Power Holding Company of Nigeria {PHCN} now Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company.

SOUTH AFRICAN BABY SNATCHER SENTENCED TO TEN YEARS IN PRISON TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

                    According to Reuters,a South African woman was found guilty of kidnapping a newly born baby,was given a 10 year prison sentence today monday,almost two decades after she snatched the child from her biological mother's bedside.The 51 year old woman,who cannot be named to protect the identity she gave to baby ''Zephany Nurse'',was arrested in 2015 after suspicions were raised when pupils at her school remarked on her close resemblance to another girl.DNA tests carried out by police then proved that the two girls were sisters,ending 19 years of uncertainty for biological parents,Celeste and Morne Nurse.Prosecutors wanted the Cape High Court to impose a 15-year sentencee on the accused.She was found guilty of kidnapping,fraud and contravening the Children's Act.Eric Ntabazalila,a regional spokesman for the National Prosecuting Authority,said ''I can confirm that the accused in this case has been sentenced to 10 years direct imprisonment.W

OSCAR PISTORIUS,HAS BEEN PLACED ON A ROUND THE CLOCK SUICIDE WATCH,AFTER HE WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL.

                            Oscar Pistorius has been placed on a round the clock suicide watch after he was rushed to the hospital last week for sustaining injuries to his wrists.Pistorius was rushed to Pretoria's Kalafong Hospital last weekend but his family insisted it was not a suicide attempt but rather a very bad fall.City Press newspaper also reports that Pistorius has also lodged a complaint against a prison nursing staff whom he claims are trying to 'murder' him  with 'toxic medicine'.Pistorius was sentenced to six years in prison for murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

                   30 years Alison Teal wearing a pink bikini and surfing on the pink borad,is the first person to surf around a volcano.She is the first person to swim around the active Volcano in Hawaii.Underwater photographer Perrin James took these pictures of her.Alison Teal sought guidance,permission from the Elders in Hawaii before undertaking the adventure since,Pele,the goddess of Volcano,is a highly respected and often feared force in Hawaii.She said ''The molten lava would cook a human body in seconds,the fumes are lethal,and the ocean currents and waves are treacherous''.More photos below.
