 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

EX-ABU PROCUREMENT OFFICER JAILED FOR FRAUD.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Kaduna Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 secured the conviction of one Danjuma Musa before Justice Peter Mallong of the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna on a one count amended charge that bordered on procurement fraud. The charge reads, “That you, Danjuma Musa (while being a procurement Officer of Ahmadu Bello University) sometime in 2016 at Zaria within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court entered a collusive agreement with Gboye Surgical Equipment to inflate the prices tendered for the supply of drugs and laboratory reagents, contracts awarded by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria which would not have been the case had there not been collusion between you and Gboye Surgical Equipment and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 58(4)(a) of the Public Procurement Act, 2007, and punishable under Section 58(6)(a) and (b) of the same Act". EFCC NABS TWO LADIES FOR ATTEMPTING TO SMUGGLE HARD DRUGS TO DETAINEES.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, arrested two ladies, Jumoke Ayodele and Opeoluwa Temitayo, for an attempt to smuggle substances believed to be hard drug to suspects in the custody of the zonal office. The substance, according to a medical officer with the Commission, is ‘colorado drug’ noted for having dire psychological effect on its abusers. The ladies on their part admitted that the substance was a hard drug, meant for the consumption of the detainees. To convey the drugs, the duo wrapped them in small cellophane packs, and tucked them inside sausages they brought for the detainees. Though EFCC detainees are fed by the Commission, they are nonetheless allowed to receive meals from their visiting relatives, which are carefully evaluated by the Commission’s officers to ensure that the detainees do not come to harm as a result of what they ingest. ARMED THUGS ATTACK TERMINUS IN JOS, DESTROY BUSINESSES, PROPERTIES .{PHOTO}.

  20th October, 2020 3:02 PM Armed thugs have overrun a popular business district in Jos, Plateau State, unleashing mayhem in the area. #EndSARS protesters were not in the area and had never protested there since demonstrations against police brutality began in the state. The thugs in an attempt to discredit peaceful protesters took over Ahmadu Bello Way, chanting “Sai Buhari”. A restaurant, Mr Biggs, has been destroyed while cars of customers parked outside the building have been razed by the thugs. It is unclear if there are casualties at the time of this report.
