EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

5 SAILORS WERE KIDNAPPED BY PIRATES FROM A POLAND SHIP,OFF NIGERIAN COAST.

           Today friday,Polish authorities said that Pirates attacked a Polish owned cargo vessel off the Nigerian coast and kidnapped it captain and four crew.The Cyprus registered Szafir was boarded overnight by armed men in two boats,who looted the 10,000 tonne container ship.Poland Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said in a news conference today friday in Warsaw that the unidentified kidnappers had made no demands so far and Poland was liaising with Nigerian authorities. The kidnapped sailors also included other officers,which made the ship impossible to navigate.''The rest of the crew,11 people,are still on the ship and they are safe...The ship suffered some damage''.One more photo below.                                                                                                          

A SUICIDE BOMBER DETONATED A BOMB IN THE MIDST OF A SHI'ITE PROCESSION IN KANO STATE,KILLING 21.

                      A male suicide bomber hit a procession of Shi'te Muslims in Kano state as they walked to the city of Zaria to pay homage to their founder in the country.Muhammad Turi said that 21 people had been killed and more wounded .Police said there were casualties but they could not confirm a figure.The blast went off at around 2pm local time near the village of Dakozoye outside the town of Garum Mallam.According to Police Commissioner Muhammad Musa Katsina ,he said ''It was in a bush area,on a farmland along the highway,our concern is to make everywhere safe.The bomb was made of high caliber explosive''.The Commissioner said he did not know who was behind the bombing.

5 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED TODAY AT OLODI APAPA,FOR DUPING A WOMAN N210,000.

                   Today friday,five members of a 15 man syndicate,specialising in dollar counterfeiting and defrauding members of the public were arrested by the Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad {RRS}.The suspects who were identified as 32 years old Ade Oladele,33 years old Friday Philip,35 years old Israel Ibeh,30 years old Oyewole Thompson and 31 years old Onyegbuchi Godwin were arrested at Oko Baba Sule,off Wilmer Bridge around Olodi Apapa area of Lagos.The syndicate led by their gang leader,simply identified as ''Toronto'' had defrauded Chioma Anozie of N210,000 under the pretext of supplying her phones and laptops.One of the gang members,Oyewole Thompson,met Anozie at Mile 2 pretending to be a foreigner looking for a marketer to help sell off a huge consignment of mobile phone and laptops.It was there she was directed to bring money to get the consignment.Found with the suspects were several denominations of fake US dollars and four mobile phones.The lady th

                      Today friday it was reported that a 25 year old single lady,a Brazil based freelance journalist and a patent medicine dealer are among six suspected drug traffickers currently being interrogated by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency {NDLEA} for drug trafficking.The six suspects were apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport,Lagos with substances that tested positive for narcotics.The NDLEA Commander at the Lagos Airport,Ahmadu Garba,gave the names of the suspects as 25 years old Gabriel Chidinma Juliet,caught with 2.900 kg of cocaine in duty free bag,48 years old Anagbogu Churchill Okwudili,who ingested 47 wraps of cocaine weighing 940 grammes and 36 years old Enenchi Jerome Oguejiefor who concealed 5.500 kg of cannabis inside fufu.Others are 32 years old Ani Kennedy Tochukwu,who packed 21 wraps of cocaine weighing 350 grammes inside jeans trousers,28 years old Eletamuzor Celestine Kenechukwu who was caught with 9 kilogramme of
