 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

Bashir El-Rufai, one of the sons of Kaduna Governor and his wife have welcomed twin boys. According to Bashir, his wife and babies are in good health condition. Bashir wedded Halima Kazaure, daughter of former Jigawa Senator Ibrahim Kazaure on November 21, 2020 in Abuja. The wedding was attended by many dignitaries including Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; former emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II; Jigawa Governor Badaru Abubakar; Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and others. “Alhamdulillah. My wife just gave birth to beautiful identical twin boys. Mother is doing great. Father is ecstatic. Thank you Allah. It was all you,” Bashir tweeted.

AFCON 2ND ROUND: PRESIDENT BUHARI IN VIDEO CONFERENCE WITH SUPER EAGLES, CHARGES THEM TO FLY President Muhammadu Buhari Sunday morning gave a pep talk to the Super Eagles, ahead of their second round match against Tunisia tonight in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament. Speaking via video conference from the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President spoke with Coach Augustine Eguavoen, , Captain Ahmed Musa , Amaju Pinnick, President of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), and Nigerian Ambassador to Cameroon, Gen Abayomi Olonisakin (retd). Mentioning two of the players, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon, by name, President Buhari urged the Super Eagles to continue making Nigerians happy, not only by winning the second round match, but to eventually lift the trophy. Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has resumed its enforcement and monitoring exercise following the short break during the 2021 end of the year holiday and restated its determination to rid the State of illegal developments.  The General Manager of LASPPA, Mr. Kehinde Osinaike, disclosed that the Authority has now extended the enforcement and monitoring exercise to the Oshodi area of the State following the conclusion of the exercise in Opebi/Allen axis of Ikeja.  He explained that during the concluded exercise at Ikeja, property that violated the Town Planning Laws were sealed while buildings that were initially sealed but unlawfully unsealed without official authorisation were partially resealed, including shops on road setback. Osinaike also avered that the Monitoring and Compliance Unit of the Agency had equally carried out an exercise in Eti-Osa, especially to check property that were sealed last year to ascertain if they have not been illegally unsealed by

NDLEA raids Abuja garden, arrests 6 over drug cookies, noodles . Intercepts UK, Saudi-bound cocaine concealed in synthetic hair Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have raided a relaxation centre, popularly called garden in Abuja and arrested six persons for selling drug cookies and noodles. Following credible intelligence, operatives raided the garden at Wuse Zone 5 behind Shoprite, where a lady Rachael Famiyesun, 29, who deals in drug cookies was arrested along with her salesgirl, Stella Sunday, 20. Beside the cookies, they were also caught selling bottles of black currant drink popularly called Zobo prepared with cannabis. Another business operator in the garden, Moses Obi, 30, was also arrested with his salesgirl, Aisha Abdulrahman, 19, for selling indomie noodles prepared with cannabis.
