The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Tinubu: FBI declines Jeffrey Guterman’s request for release of file, gives reason The Federal Bureau of Intelligence, FBI, has rejected the application by an American, Jeffrey Guterman, a retired American mental health counsellor, asking it to release a file on Nigeria’s President-elect Bola Tinubu. 10-year-old testing bulletproof charm kills friend in Bayelsa 6 May 2023 Tragedy struck the Otuan Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State as a 10-year-old boy allegedly killed his 12-year-old friend with his grandfather’s pistol. According to an eyewitness account, the boys were reenacting scenes from a movie when the deceased claimed to have a spiritual bulletproof charm and challenged the 10-year-old who quickly ran into his grandfather’s room and fired a shot that killed his friend. The owner of the pistol, who is reportedly an ex-serviceman, was not at home at the time of the incident. The 10-year-old, after firing the shot, dropped the gun and fled the scene. The incident has caused a stir in the community, with some residents calling for the immediate execution of the perpetrator in accordance with the community’s law. On Thursday, 4th of May, 2023 at about 5:58 pm, a victim named Miss Oke, lamented over how a tricycle driver robbed her of her belongings in Upper Erejuwa Road in Warri South Local Government Area. The victim, who was vividly shivering while narrating her experience to our correspondent, explained how she went to visit her friend in the above-mentioned area and decided to take a tricycle back home. The Oyo State Executive Council met yesterday and approved the following: 1) The remodelling of Agbowo Shopping Complex to a shopping complex, a 4-star hotel, the anchor store, cinema building, event centre/casino and a restaurant through a direct contract model awarded to Messrs Planet Projects. The contract duration is 18 months at the sum of N10.1 billion to be funded by a project specific 7-year medium term bond of N8.5 billion. The bond is to be raised by Messrs SCM Capital Ltd who will provide bridge finance of N4.25 billion to the contractor to be refunded from the proceeds of the N8.5 billion bond. 2) Four Executive Bills to be presented to the House of Assembly. Meet 22 years old Kamsi, Unicals Best Graduating Student Kamsi Olivia Muoka who hails from Anambra State won several awards in last year's induction of graduands in the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science into the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria ( MLSCN) is again celebrated as Unical's best graduating student with a CGPA of 4.73. Muoka brings the tally of best graduating students from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science of the University of Calabar to 2 in 6 years. MAN ARRESTED FOR STABBING ANOTHER TO DEATH IN LAGOS. (PHOTO).

 Man arrested for stabbing another to death in Lagos The police in Lagos state have apprehended a young man identified as Quadril Raji Aremu for allegedly stabbing another man simply identified as Qudus to d€ath in the Idi Aba Jakande area of Lagos state today May 6. According to reports, the deceased and Quadril had a fight and in the process, the deceased stabbed Quadril in his hand. In revenge, Quadril allegedly picked up a kn!fe and stabbed late Qudus on his face, left armpit and chest. This resulted in the deceased losing a lot of blood which led to his demise. Quadril was immediately arrested while the body of late Qudus has been deposited at the IDH General Hospital Yaba. The police say an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
