 Govt extends search for fleeing 4,000 inmates to IDP camps …to comb villages, towns, environs of fugitive prisoners  The Nigeria Correctional Service has stepped up efforts to track down and recapture escaped inmates of the Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre, Niger State, Saturday PUNCH has learnt. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Thursday, said the government would relocate a lot of correctional centres to create better infrastructure and security. Tunji-Ojo made the pledge when he visited the Niger custodial centre, where 119 inmates had escaped following a rainstorm that damaged the facility on Wednesday. This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Ozoya Imohimi. The minister said it was imperative to relocate a lot of the correctional centres to a conducive environment. “This facility was built in 1914 to house 250 inmates.                     According to French Health Minister Marisol Touraine said today friday that one person has been left brain dead and five others have been hospitalised after taking part in a clinical trial in France of an experimental drug made by Portuguese drug company Bial,In total,90 people have taken part in the trial,taking some dosage of the drug aimed at tackling mood and anxiety issues,as well as movement coordination disorders linked to neurology issues.The six men aged 28 to 49 had been in good health until taking the oral medication at the Biotrial private facility that specialises in clinical trials.The minister said in a conference after meeting volunteers and their families in Rennes''This is unprecedented.We'll do everything to understand what happened''.Prosecutors have opened an investigation into the case.The six men started taking the drug on January 7.The brain dead volunteer was admitted to a hospital on monday,the minister said.For three of

                                                                         EFCC {Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on January 15,arraigned a former Chairman of Kaduna South LGA,Bala Isa Idris before a High Court in Kaduna stste on one count charge that borders on advance fee fraud.The accused allegedly obtained the sum of N3,000,000 from one Alhaji Bashir Ahmed when he fraudulently sold a plot of land belonging to the council,situated at Mechanic village,Kurmin Mashi,Kaduna state to him with the false claim that he had the authority to dispose the piece of land.The accused pleaded not guilty to charge read and was granted bail in the sum of N1,000,000 and one surety in like sum.The surety must be a civil servant not below grade level 12.The case was adjourned to March 10,2016 for commencement of trial.One more photo below.                                                                                                                                                               

A WOMAN THAT RECENTLY DIED OF EBOLA IN SIERRA LEONE,MAY HAVE INFECTED AT LEAST 27 PEOPLE AS PER TODAY.

                Today friday it was reported that a woman who died of Ebola this week in Sierra Leone potentially exposed at least 27 other people to the disease,raising the risk of more cases just as the deadliest epidemic on record appeared to be ending.Just a day earlier,the World Health Organization {WHO} had declared that all known chains of transmission have been stopped in West Africa,meaning that the region was officially free of the disease after a two year epidemic that killed more than 11,300 people.It warned however of potential flare-ups,as survivors can carry the virus fo months.The new case in Sierra Leone is especially disquieting because authorities failed to follow basic health protocols.The victim a 22 year old female named Mariatu Jalloh,began showing symptoms at the beginning of the year,though the exact date is unknown.The victim is a student in Port Loko,the largest town in Sierra Leone's Northern Province,Jalloh travelled to Bamoi Luma near the border with G
