The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        Daura community in Katsina State, which was hit by massive floods last week, will receive additional assistance from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Contrary to the allegations that President Muhammadu Buhari has turned his back on the people of Daura, we can confirm that pre-assessment relief materials were dispatched to the victims within 48 hours of the floods. Ten trailer loads of building materials including zinc, planks and cement, as well as tons of grains, cereals and other edibles have so far been delivered. The flood victims also received blankets and mattresses. Materials were delivered to and signed for by stakeholders while the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar welcomed the prompt emergency response from NEMA officials. TWO NIGERIANS ON FBI FRAUD LIST,ARRESTED BY THE EFCC.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Office have arrested two suspected internet fraudsters linked to the on- going collaborative investigations between the EFCC and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI. The suspects were separately arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and Owerri, Imo State. One of them, Ogbonnah Atoukaritou, a leader of a loose syndic ate of fraudsters allegedly engaged in Business Email Compromise, BEC, was arrested in Port Harcourt while the other suspect, Alpha Chidi Egbeonu, suspected to be involved in defrauding a US- based victim, Goldberg Segalla LLP and other yet to be identified victims, was arrested in Owerri. Items recovered from the suspects include laptops, android phones, land documents, hard disks, Central Processing Unit, warehouse and a recently built house, now attached by the EFCC. The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.More photos below.

HURRICANE DORIAN HITS BAHAMAS TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

     According to Ajazeera '' Hurricane   Dorian , which intensified to a category 5 storm capable of inflicting catastrophic levels of destruction, has made landfall on an island chain in the northern   Bahamas .  Massive waves, torrential rain and sustained winds of 285 kilometres an hour were reported as Dorian hit Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands on Sunday at 12:40pm (16:40 GMT),  the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami said. The storm's arrival poses a "life-threatening situation", the NHC said.  Th e hurricane was the strongest recorded in modern history in the northwestern Bahamas, according to the National Weather Service. The NHC said it was tied for the strongest hurricane landfall in the Atlantic with the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane.  Residents reported power outages, flooding, roofs ripped off of buildings and the destruction of docks as the eyewall of the storm passed directly over the island.       Troops of Sector 3, Operation LAFIYA DOLE attached to Super Camp Monguno on Friday 30th August 2019 while on patrol dealt a devastating blow on Boko Haram terrorists along Monguno-Mairari-Gajiram axis.
